Olivia and I just got back from a 5 day girls’ trip to Ibiza – and no, not for partying!
In fact, we didn’t go into a single club! Ibiza is internationally known for its clubs and summer party season, but that wasn’t on our agenda. The island is a stunning Balearic paradise with plenty of peaceful countryside and beautiful beaches that are secluded away from the clubs and bars – perfect for a relaxing girls’ holiday.
We stayed at Olivia‘s godmother’s house in the hills; it was an absolutely stunning place, with loads of spots for us to lounge around and chill by the pool. We rented a car to get around, and luckily Olivia knew all the best places to visit, making an excellent tour guide.

1. Book club
Guess who hasn’t read a single book this year despite her main goal in January to read 12 books in 12 months… oops! That is, until last week. One of the best things about our chilled trip away was having time to just stop and read a book or a magazine – an absolute luxury! I am a bit of a fidget by myself, and I know Alex is too, but Olivia is an avid reader so she definitely lead by example and encouraged me to just be still and get inspiration from a couple of books. It was so nice to have a chat and discuss them after, too!
Below are the two books I read and loved:
‘Entrepreneurial You’ by Dorie Clark*
An awesome, inspirational business book about how to make more money and build your brand through multiple income streams – this book had me writing so many notes and ideas down!
‘A Stranger In The House’ by *
Once I started this fiction crime thriller on the flight home, I couldn’t stop! I raced through each chapter and was baited in by the cliff hangers hook, line and sinker.
2. Shopping & Market Exploring
We all know the slight guilty feeling you get when you realise you’ve been dragging your man around the shops for hours – no matter how sweet they are and say they’re not bored! Going with your girlfriend(s) means you can shop til you’re pretty much out of money… which may or may not be a good thing.
Olivia and I hit Ibiza town to take a look in shops like Mango, Zara and Pull&Bear (we don’t get these chains in Cornwall so it’s always a novelty!), and were able to spend as long as we wanted trying on outfits and egging each other on to try stuff on. We also visited several boutiques on our trip, ‘ooh-ing’ and ‘aah-ing’ over beautiful, expensive floaty dresses and woven baskets, and even went to a Saturday morning hippy market to look for jewellery and gifts as well – heaven!
3. Total relaxation
It felt amazing to have 5 days where we literally just took time to relax and do whatever we wanted! When you’re super close friends, chances are you enjoy similar activities, so it worked out perfectly. For us, it involved a whole lot of sunbathing and lounging by the pool, and taking each day slowly without rushing anywhere.

4. Photoshoots
One of the main reasons for our girls’ trip (apart from chilling out in the sun!) was to do some photoshoots by the sea in the warmth of Ibiza. We spent two evenings making the most of the incredible sunset light (a post all about that coming soon!) and dedicated time to getting some photos for a couple of brands too.
One of which was Crew Clothing! We headed to the beach and took some photos in the afternoon light by the coast. Doing this together as girls is so much fun because we can be as bossy as we want to each other about angles and numerous takes without feeling like we’re being annoying, and without the awkwardness of trying to do it all by yourself… we could have a laugh about it! Of course it also helps that my best friend happens to be a professional lifestyle photographer, but taking photos with your girlfriends is always fun.
^ Dinner at La Oliva in Ibiza Old Town – this was absolutely delicious and they were super nice about Olivia needing to be dairy and gluten free too!
^ Breakfast at Wild Beets in Santa Gertrudis (awesome place for a vegan/veggie lunch or brunch!)
5. Girl chats
Whether over dinner or on our drives around the island, or sat on loungers catching a tan by the pool, it’s just nice to be able to have quality time with your gal and catch up on all important girly issues (yes, bodies, sex and Love Island included!).
Have you ever been on a girls’ only trip with your friends or BFF?

Absolutely beautiful!!! We used to visit a villa in Ibiza every year as children as friends had one, so I’m also a big fan of the chilled white sand holiday rather than the partying it’s renowned for! Alice xxx

That sounds dreamy! I was amazed at how quiet it was everywhere other than the main party areas tbh! x
