Pancakes, Wellies and Gadgets | February Favourites
Somehow February became a super busy and fun-filled month for me!
With two mini getaways (in St. Ives and in one of The Valley’s luxury cottages), a couple of exciting day trips (blog posts to come!), several delicious meals out as well as birthdays, work meetings and house stuff to sort, it’s been fairly hectic.
I’ve been really enjoying having a full calendar, and it’s so nice to look back at a month filled with happy times! Below are some more things that have made my month great:

1. My surprise Hunter wellies!
At the beginning of the month, Alex surprised me with a very kind gift – a pair of beautiful black Hunter boots*! I’d been moaning for weeks and weeks that I needed some wellies but kept forgetting to go and buy a cheap pair from Trago. Well, boy did good and surprised me with these instead after he returned from a weekend away, and I couldn’t be happier with them – they’re so comfy and have been getting use every single day for walking the dogs.

2. These adorable beetroot rose lattes
How beautiful are these beetroot rose lattes? They’re the creation of Kaylee from TheBlondieLocks who features once a month on one of my favourite blogs, Lark & Linen. I just thought they were gorgeous!

3. It actually snowed a bit!
Hold the phone- It’s actually snowing in Cornwall! This whole ‘Beast from the East’ business has well and truly ground Cornwall and the South West (and to be fair, most of the UK!) to a halt, but it’s still been fun and beautiful to watch and play in.
4. Having a cleaner inbox
This month I’ve been making an effort to keep my inbox clean, which has involved unsubscribing to all unwanted marketing emails. It’s actually amazed me how many I receive that I must have previously just been deleting and forgetting about… it’s also amazed me how many companies don’t have a proper unsubscribe process, which is totally illegal!

5. Banana and blueberry pancakes on Shrove Tuesday
I have officially perfected my banana pancake recipe and enjoyed it over the course of Pancake Day week (yes it should be a whole week long, not just a day!). I love adding cinnamon, blueberries and maple syrup to mine.

6. Altered Carbon on Netflix
This new Netflix series was the talk of all my friends this month, and I absolutely loved it! Set hundreds of years in the future, the human race have found a way to download human consciousness onto gadgets called ‘stacks’, and can therefore implant them into different bodies (aka ‘sleeves’), and the series is full of loads of other cool futuristic tech stuff too, along with sex, violence and an epic soundtrack. Totally worth a watch!

7. A nepalese meal at Yak & Yeti with my mum
My mum was saying how much she loves Indian food, so we all went out for a delicious meal at the Yak & Yeti in Truro for a Nepalese and Indian feast! It was delicious and the service was amazing; my mum got chatting with the owner and is now lusting over a trip to Nepal.
8. 5 tips on finding adventure as an adult
I thought this post on Sweet Serendipity was really sweet and inspiring, and I totally agree that it’s so important to still have fun and stay adventurous and inquisitive when you’re a ‘grown up’!

9. My new graphics tablet!
I finally bit the bullet and bought myself a new graphics tablet (the Wacom Intuos Art Pen & Touch tablet*) to help me create designs for my business and I’ve been loving it! It’s taken a bit of getting used to; I hadn’t considered how different it would be drawing and not seeing what you’re drawing where your hand is, but instead seeing it appear in a screen – so some hand-eye co-ordination practice has been necessary!

10. Liv’s birthday in Truro
Last weekend we celebrated my friend Liv’s birthday in style with a gold & silver themed VIP night in Truro, including plenty of glitter, dancing and of course drinking! It was a great excuse to dress up super fancy, as it’s not often I get the opportunity to do that!
