Last Friday, N and I decided to shake up our daily routine and took our work to the beach!
Okay so it was an August Friday, and Perranporth was possibly the busiest I’ve ever seen it, but we still managed to grab a couple of pasties, stroll casually through the masses of beach tents and wind-breakers and find a seat at The Watering Hole to get a drink and set up for work.
It felt strange to have my laptop out doing work around all the people who were obviously on their Summer holidays, but it was just so nice to be sat outdoors with the breeze and sun on my back getting some vitamin D whilst being productive.
The Watering Hole, in case you didn’t know, is a bar/cafe/music venue on the dunes at Perranporth beach; it has free wifi and plenty of places to sit with great views of the ocean.
Surprisingly, I actually got quite a bit of work done during the 3 or so hours we were there, and I’d love to make this more of a regular thing as it definitely motivated me being sat with a glistening turquoise sea as my backdrop.
I often struggle with guilt in the Summer; always thinking I should be making the most of the sun, or if I’m out, thinking I should be working or doing chores – but this seemed to be the perfect solution! I’d highly recommend adding some beach-working to your life if you’re in a funk working from home.
Matching perfectly with this bright blue sea, I wore my Grace Baskerville turquoise ring – gifted to me very kindly by Charlotte herself as a thanks for hosting the Cornish Creatives group.
Charlotte’s jewellery is absolutely stunning; if you love handmade, delicate silver rings, gemstones and sea glass, you will adore her creations. Based in Falmouth, she makes all her jewellery by hand, and even sources her sea glass from Cornish shores herself… plus she creates custom pieces too.

All of the jewellery featured in the photos above are made by Charlotte (and you can spy my beautiful turquoise ring in there too!), and I love how they all look stacked together. Can’t wait to add to my collection!
Delicate, minimal jewellery is my absolute favourite, but I love how this one adds a pop of fun, ocean-inspired turquoise to my day – much like a quick trip to the beach on a Friday afternoon!

I love everything she makes <3 Would buy it all if I could! x
I have a turquoise ring – I love turquoise because Amy in Little Women wears a turquoise ring as a reminder to always be her best. That is what mine is to me also. I wish I could use my laptop outside but the sun glare ruins it!
Awwh I know they’re just the prettiest! Depending on what kind of laptop you have, you can sometimes change the settings so that you can invert all the colours on the screen which makes it usable outside :) x
