Trelissick woodland walk

An Autumn Sunday at Trelissick

If you’re in Cornwall with a dog (or children for that matter), you need to visit Trelissick!

You may have heard of the National Trust’s Trelissick Gardens (which are beautiful, but expensive if you’re not an NT member, and no dogs allowed), but you may not know about the stunning, FREE countryside walk around the gardens.

You do have to pay £4 to park in the National Trust car park, but that is the only cost. And trust me, it’s worth it for the stunning views.

It’s the perfect place to take your dogs – there are huge expanses of secure fields, a shady riverside woodland path, and even a small beach to play on!

The countryside walk along the estuary is circular (around 2.5 miles), which is just a bit too long for Pepper’s short legs, so we just went half way and then turned back. Walking back up the hilly fields totally knackered her out for the rest of the day (this is a total rarity)!

Pardon the seriously fashionable and coordinating trainers.

    1. I wish I lived nearer so that I could – it’s about a half hour drive for me. Hopefully I’ll be receiving a National Trust membership this Christmas so with free parking I’ll be more inclined to make the trip! x

  1. This looks like a gorgeous walk, I’m always up for free walks :) This makes me want to explore more of the south of England, so many beautiful sights to see!

  2. Beautiful! That little boat peeping out between the trees is so delightful ^_^
I’ve roamed around Trelissick twice but never made it down the bottom to the beach! Clearly I’m missing out. The colours in these pictures are glorious – god I miss home! D: Sorry for not being able to come to the events :'( I’d love nothing more than to be back down in that little cubby of our green island with all you lovelies and our majestic sunsets :)
    Happy Halloween week ^_^

    1. Haha, photography credit to N – I just chucked my camera at him and told him to take as many snaps as he could while I got pulled along by excited Pepper haha. Amazingly, these photos haven’t been edited either, so the colours are all true!

Don’t worry, I know you’re super busy up in Bath :) Have a great week x

  3. This looks wonderful! Lee and I have NT memberships because we’re secretly middle aged before our time ;) Best decision ever though – free entry to places like this make us really happy! You’ve got some lovely photographs here, Anna, good job!

    1. Thank you Flora! I’ve asked for an NT membership for Christmas now, as there are so many beautiful places nearby that we can take the dog to as well! x
