August and September ended up being an unexpectedly busy couple of months!
My house went up for sale, and that combined with Alex’s work and doing the final bits to the bungalow renovation before moving in (and building ALL the flat pack furniture), plus it being my birthday amongst all this, meant both August and September have flown past – as every month seems to at the moment! But it’s been a really happy few months and below are some things that have made it great…
1. Progressing on selling my house!
I definitely underestimated how much work selling a house would be – the preparation and tidying getting it ready for the estate agents photos was nothing in comparison to the effort of constantly making the house immaculate before every single viewing (and I had over 25 in the end!). Alex and I were living there with the dogs throughout all this because the bungalow wasn’t quite ready to move in to, which meant keeping on top of things and timing myself to be out of the house (with said dogs) for every viewing has been really exhausting (think mowing the lawn every 2 days, hoovering & dusting every day, and making sure the kitchen is always sparkling and everything is put away before each one).
ANYWAY, it has all (hopefully!) been worth it because my house is currently ‘sold subject-to-contract’! It’s exciting but I’m hesitant to celebrate until after all surveys are done… or in fact until literally the day of completion. I don’t like to count my eggs before they’ve hatched!
2. Olivia’s photos of her African safari
Olivia went on a safari in South Africa throughout September, and when she returned I was so excited to see her photos. I was totally blown away when she uploaded them – they’re stunning! I never thought I’d fancy going on a safari but now I’ve seen her pics and heard her stories I am obsessed with the idea of going. So beautiful!

3. The Bodyguard on BBC iPlayer
Admittedly I was a week late on the hype of this (currently only on episode 4 or something like that!) but nevertheless, Alex and I have been stuck to the TV watching this along with half the nation. It’s so gripping!
4. I launched my daily planner!
I’ve been wanting to create a new printed product in my other business (byRosanna Design) for ages, and in August I finally launched a new desk pad planner, which I’ve been using every single day for my work and life organisation. It has a long ‘work’ to-do list section, a ‘home/personal to do list’ area, as well as a spot to write your Goals, track your hydration, and (my favourite part), write your daily gratitudes – it sounds lame but honestly this practice of writing at least 1 thing you’re grateful for each morning or evening seriously makes a difference on your mindset for the day!
You can buy one for just £4.99 in my shop :)
5. Spontaneous day trips
It’s been so nice to get out in the Autumn sunshine and explore Cornwall when it’s a bit quieter and less full of tourists. Alex and I enjoyed an afternoon trip over to St Mawes last week, and me and Keda popped down to St. Ives for a mosey around at the weekend too.
6. Moroccan hair oil (birthday present from Olivia)
I had so many wonderful gifts for my birthday this September (thank you so much to everyone!) but I just had to share this because I’m so so impressed with the results! I’ve heard people rave about the Moroccan Oil products before, but never tried them myself as they’re pretty expensive… but oh my god – since trying this and using it in my hair my life I am a complete convert. It’s made my hair so soft and shiny, and I don’t really need to even style it anymore if I don’t want to.
You can buy the Moroccan hair oil here*.
7. We booked a holiday!
Alex and I have been saying for a while that we wanted to book a super relaxed all-inclusive holiday for November, and that is exactly what we have done this week! We are going away for a week to Egypt, for a completely lazy do-absolutely-nothing-except-eat-food-and-lie-on-a-sunlounger holiday. I can’t wait!
What’s been making your September great?
