Truro really isn’t like your typical city.
Anyone who has ever lived in a big city like Bristol, Birmingham, London, Manchester etc. will back me up on this. It’s quaint and cute and tiny, and there’s a street that’s literally called ‘Squeeze Guts Alley’. Yup.
So when Boohoo asked me to write about my city I jumped at the chance to post about Truro and put our little Cornish city on the map! I thought I’d go with the topic of ‘best places to eat’ because, let’s face it, food is life.
For Breakfast: Truro Lounge
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Truro Lounge is my go-to place for the perfect breakfast/brunch. The ‘Lounge Eggs’ with salmon is my absolute fave, but I’ve heard their pancakes are pretty special too!
For Lunch: Archie Browns
If you’re veggie or vegan, you have to make a trip to Archie Browns! Their salads possess the power to convert even the most veggiphobic of carnivores, and make sure you try one of their gluten free brownies while you’re at it too!
Olivia and I snuck off our work duties for a spot of baked sweet potato and hummus love this very afternoon! Evidently I was way too hungry to waste a moment taking photos of my meal because, alas, I didn’t take any – oops.
After our lunch we went for a stroll down my favourite little side street near Costa to admire the posh offices and shrubery. It’s my favourite street purely because it’s tucked away, quiet, and provides the perfect background for a couple of outfit shots – of course!

Thanks to Olivia for taking these photos; I felt suitably sassy in my fully Boohoo* outfit and brand new footwear, and ready for some shopping having crammed in some delicious (but healthy!) lunch.
For Afternoon Tea: Bone China
After our blogger meetup last year, I always recommend Bone China to anyone fancying a deliciously vintage afternoon tea or some cheeky day time cocktails! The tiny cafe/bar is so quirky and fun on the inside, and all the waitresses dress in proper 50s outfits – love it.
For Dinner: Mannings Hotel & Restaurant
If you’re looking for somewhere to stay while exploring the sights Truro has to offer, look no further than Mannings Hotel and Restaurant! The rooms are beautiful and luxurious, and its central location is great for shopping. You don’t have to be staying there to take advantage of the fantastic food in the restaurant though, so if you fancy a bit of a posh evening out I’d definitely recommend a trip here!
Where are your favourite places to eat in your city?

I went to the Truro Lounge earlier this year and thought it was great. I loved reading their range of cocktails but I was sadly driving. Next time though!

I never really eat out in Truro just because it’s so far away, but when I do, my go-to spots are ‘uneeka’ for their amazing chicken pesto salad, Ask for Italian food and the Cornish Food Box farm shop or the arts cafe in the museum for coffee and cake ☺️ I will have to give Archie Browns a try now though :D that side street is easily the cutest spot for pics ;) xxx
I haven’t really explored Truro that much (which is silly since my aunt and uncle live in Falmouth and it’s so close!), but these food places look brilliant! I love how cute and quirky Cornwall is. Archie Browns seems delicious and I always love an afternoon tea with cocktails!!
Your outfit looks great also! Love your style!
