Luxury Stays for your Cornwall Holiday

The Best Luxury Stays in Cornwall

My top picks of luxury hotels and resorts for your next holiday or staycation in Cornwall (tried & tested from a Cornish local)!

Being the popular holiday destination that it is, Cornwall has hundreds (if not thousands!) of options for places to stay, from cottages and campsites to hotels and guesthouses. There’s really something for everyone!

However, if you’re looking for a higher end, really luxurious experience in Cornwall, there are definitely a few places that come top of mind! I wanted to share my favourite luxury destinations that I’ve personally been to and loved myself, that truly stand out for making you feel like a VIP!

I’m extremely grateful to have had the opportunities to stay in these wonderful places, so I hope my thoughts help you find your perfect spot…

The Valley Cornwall – Luxury Holiday Village

★★★★★ Self-catered cottages with facilities on-site (family & dog friendly) – Carnon Downs

Kicking off with a self-catered holiday-resort style option, The Valley is based in the beautiful countryside between Truro and Falmouth; an excellent central location to get to all the best places in Cornwall! The 2 and 3 bedroom cottages are like a home away from home, with a 5* Gold standard, and the on-site facilities (including 2 swimming pools, tennis court, squash court, games room and more) make it feel like a mini Centre Parcs – but with a more personal, high end vibe.

Fistral Beach Hotel & Spa

★★★★ Hotel and Spa (adults only) – Newquay

Fistral Beach Hotel is one of my favourite hotels in Cornwall for several reasons. Firstly, their sea view rooms (we stayed in one of the ‘Best’ rooms) are just incredible; true comfort, modern decor, and balconies to chill on while you look out over Fistral Beach. This decor and cool, effortless-chic style carries through the rest of the hotel, and I love their ‘laid back luxury’ ethos and friendly service too.

Their Dune restaurant has one of the best (in terms of taste and value) tasting menus we’ve ever had, and if you get a chance to book a treatment in their spa I can 100% recommend that too – probably that best massage I’ve had!

The Greenbank

★★★★ Hotel – Falmouth

This hotel is home to one of the most fabulous hotel rooms I’ve ever experienced – the Florence Suite. If you’re ever able to book this for a special occasion, I can’t recommend it enough! The decor in this huge room is incredible, the view of Falmouth harbour is truly magical, especially when waking up to sunrise, and the restaurant is lovely too.

Greenbank Hotel Falmouth

The Scarlet

★★★★ Hotel and Spa (adults only) – Newquay

This is known for being one of the top hotels in Cornwall, and it definitely has the most beautiful spa in Cornwall too! The outdoor natural pool is a show-stopper, and the treatments are brilliant too. Alex booked a gorgeous room with a balcony overlooking Mawgan Porth for us here for the evening after he proposed to me, so it feels very special for me now :)

Chapel House

Boutique Hotel

If you’re looking for something a little bit different, this 6 room boutique hotel in Penzance is an 18th century Georgian townhouse, renovated with gorgeous contemporary decor that feels luxurious and like home. Wake up to a homemade breakfast in the kitchen, and use this as your peaceful escape when exploring the incredible coast and hidden gems in the Penzance area.

Talland Bay Hotel

★★★★ Hotel (dog friendly!) – Talland nr. Looe

We stayed here back in 2018, and again more recently in 2023, and both times have been fantastic! The hotel is full of unique character, and newly refurbished rooms, but the service and location makes this place truly memorable. It’s super dog friendly, so both times we’ve loved bringing Maizy and Pepper along with us to explore the coast path and coves from right outside the hotel, and we recently tried their 9 course Tasting Experience menu which was amazing as well!
