Sometimes you just want to sit by the ocean with a drink and enjoy the views Cornwall has to offer!
There are so many awesome bars and pubs here in Cornwall, but finding the best ones with a great view can be tricky if you don’t know where to look! I’ve put together a list of my favourite spots to enjoy a drink with a view, overlooking the sea, beaches or Cornish rivers.
Some of the below places serve food, and some don’t, but I’ve deliberately chosen places that are specifically known for being pubs or bars, rather than eateries! I have plenty of restaurant reviews you can check out on the blog, though.
The Heron Inn, Malpas
Tucked away on the outskirts of Cornwall’s capital, The Heron Inn overlooks the Truro river and has lots of outside seating for the best views. The pub is dog friendly, and serves incredibly delicious seafood too – so also worth a visit for food as well! Be aware there is very limited parking in Malpas, so I’d probably suggest walking from Truro or getting a bus or taxi into this small village.
Watchful Mary, Watergate Bay
Watergate Bay is a beach resort on the outskirts of Newquay and always has lots going on with plenty of places to eat and drink here. However Watchful Mary is one of the best spots for a cocktail, due to the cool vibe and view over the ocean perfect for sunset watching!

Harbour Inn, Porthleven
We love visiting Porthleven for the incredible food, but there’s also so much activity around the quaint harbourside that it’s also great for grabbing a drink and watching the boats go past or locals jumping into the ocean! The Harbour Inn has plenty of outside seating with the best views.
The Watering Hole, Perranporth
I couldn’t not include the UK’s only bar on a beach, right? The Watering Hole is literally built in to the sand dunes at Perranporth so you can’t really get closer to the ocean than this! It’s great for a pit stop on your beach walk, but also hosts loads of awesome music events throughout the year to check out too.

The Ferry Boat Inn, Helford Passage
Down in one of my favourite areas of Cornwall (Helford river), the Ferry Boat Inn is perfectly placed if you’re doing the beautiful riverside coast path walk along from Durgan. There’s outside seating (and of course plenty of space on the sand to sit with a drink too!) that looks out over the river and across to the Lizard peninsula.

The Working Boat, Falmouth
This Falmouth-based pub sits directly underneath the Greebank hotel, and offers outside seating overlooking Falmouth harbour and across to St. Mawes too. It’s the ideal spot to chill out with a drink (or grab some tasty food!), further away from the busy-ness of the town centre.

I’m sure there are countless others in Cornwall that I’m yet to explore, as these are just some of my favourites from mainly South Cornwall.
