The last time I visited the Pandora Inn was when I was 3 years old!
I remember rowing the little dinghy from our old house over to this 13th century inn in the evenings, where my parents would have a drink whilst looking out at the creek, and I’d sit in the corner eating cheesy garlic bread… YUM!
Yep, I have a fantastic memory.
This Boxing Day was still and beautifully sunny, and I had no idea what to do; I wanted to get out and enjoy the sunshine on a nice walk, but I also wanted to stay snug! Most cafes and places were closed, so I did a quick Google and decided an adventure over to Restronguet creek was in order.
We drove past all the beautiful homes around Mylor Bridge and down to the inn at the edge of the water, where we enjoyed hot chocolates looking out at the river. The Pandora Inn has its own pontoon with tables and chairs, where you can moor up in your boat straight outside, or even take the Falmouth water taxi!
As it was Boxing Day, there were lots of families around enjoying the delicious food the restaurant has to offer and playing in the water with their doggies (pups allowed in the pub too!).
We went for a quick walk along the public footpath after our drinks, admiring the view of the amazing houses across the river in Feock – just about the most expensive place to live in Cornwall (#lifegoals).
We were definitely on the wrong side of the river for catching the sun, and it got cold pretty quickly so we didn’t stay out for too long, but just long enough to get a feel for the footpath and check it would be okay for us to bring along Pepper next time! (Plus long enough for us to see more beautiful houses at the edge of the path – each with their own mini pontoons, obviously *sigh*).
Hope you’ve had a wonderful Christmas! How did you spend your Boxing Day?
