Breakfast at The Watering Hole
Built in to the sand dunes on Perranporth beach, The Watering Hole is by far one of the coolest places to eat and drink in Cornwall.
Well, you can’t really beat a view like that from your table can you?

This beach bar/cafe/restaurant is over 30 years old, but has been completely refurbished in the last few years, and is now one of Cornwall’s most famous hang out spots by day, and music venue by night.

I’ve been there just for drinks, and have also seen Billy Ocean live there (amazing!), but have never tried out their food before now.
After a lazy stroll along the beach last weekend, N and I stopped off for some breakfast and coffee. It was the perfect day, so naturally we sat outside and people-watched from our bench.

I had a delicious iced coffee while we waited for our food; although I soon regretted not ordering a hot drink, as the April breeze was on the edge of being too cold…
However, all thoughts of needing an extra layer disappeared when my ‘full English’ arrived, and I tucked in gratefully.

Be warned: this is just the standard! I’m not sure I could have handled the large breakfast, but I’d love to attempt it some day!
The Watering Hole (and the whole of Perranporth beach) is dog-friendly all year. I can’t wait for when Pepper gets better and we can take her here; we spent the whole morning ‘dog-watching’ and missing her.
As with all awesome places in Cornwall, it’s bound to get ridiculously busy come Summer, but I think if you’re up early and get to the beach between 9 and 10am, you should be able to get yourself a delicious breakfast before the tourists arrive!

Looks gorgeous!! xx

Do it haha :) Cornwall really is a lovely place! (Not biased at all…) x
I’ve not eaten at the Watering Hole in years. We went there a few months ago on a Sunday and was so rammed we just walked straight out again. Definitely need to go soon, especially with the breakfasts looking like that!

Oh no that’s so annoying. The queue was fairly long even at 11am there, so I can’t imagine what it’d be like for lunch! I definitely think around 9 – 10 am would be best, and they have a few different breakfast options if you’re not feeling full english too :) x
what a lovely place !
