If you’re looking for an indulgent sweet treat for your next Cornish brunch, head to Slice of Cornwall!
Located just outside of Constantine, near Falmouth, Slice of Cornwall is a cute countryside cafe serving delicious brunch and lunch options 7 days a week. They’ve been on my list of places to eat for months but I finally found the perfect opportunity to visit last weekend when my friend Abbie came down from Bristol to visit.
Obviously wanting to impress her with the best foodie treats, we also wanted to start the day off with something filling as we were heading off to Tunes in the Dunes festival that afternoon for some dancing in the sand!
The cafe is on the way to Constantine deep in the countryside, and as we pulled into the car park I realised I had been there before years ago for a coffee – although I’m not sure if it was Slice then. There’s plenty of indoor seating, and a nice decked area outside with benches to sit at as well.
We sat down and ordered coffees (oat milk and hazelnut syrup – yes please!) and spent a long while deliberating over the brunch menu. So many good options! In the end Abbie went for the salmon on sourdough and Keda and I shared one set of bacon & maple syrup waffles and one set of banoffee waffles.
I can tell you now we were expecting the portions to be so huge! Our plates were piled high with delicious hot waffles covered in amazing toppings, and Abbie’s bowl was so deep with salmon and salad, she ended up barely making a dent in her brunch too. Not a problem though as Slice had takeaway boxes ready to go for us, so our breakfasts ended up spreading across several meals – yum!
As you can see, the waffles looked INCREDIBLE, and I can attest that they tasted great too. I absolutely love the different combinations they offer here (a couple of interesting savoury options too … maybe for another day!) and I can 100% say they were the best waffles I’ve had, and definitely hit the spot. I was just sad I couldn’t eat more of them! Alex ended up eating my takeaway box later on…
Slice of Cornwall is dog friendly (in their outside area), and booking is recommended. Check out their website for more info!
