Each year I love putting together a Cornwall-inspired Christmas gift guide, and this year I thought I’d do a surf / beach themed list of ideas.
Last year I created my Cornish Christmas Gift Guide with foodie ideas, fashion, books, experiences and more all from Cornish brands and businesses. It’s important to me that I always highlight local companies and support small businesses at this time of year!
This year I wanted to do something a little different and more specific to who the gifts were for, so I chose to select gifts for Cornwall folk this time, and of course they also apply to any surfers and beach lovers out there too. Many of these are created by local businesses, and some are just for fun for the beach bum, surf girl or Cornishman on your list!
Atlantic Blankets
Whether you’re after their snuggly woollen blankets to cuddle up in the car after a cold walk on the beach or dip in the sea, or a recycled cotton picnic blanket for a post-surf feast, Cornwall-based Atlantic Blankets have you covered – literally!
Aluna Coconut Rum
Every winter surfer needs a post-surf hot chocolate right? And what better way to warm you up than with a dash of delicious coconut rum from Aluna.
Chilly’s Water Bottle / Flask
If you’re going to be bringing a hot drink with you to the beach, you’re going to need a good quality flask to keep it hot while it’s waiting for you! Invest in a Chilly’s bottle* with a cute design, and it doubles as a handy water bottle too to rehydrate yourself.
Ocean Calendar by Salt Shots
Stay inspired to get out in the water, even on cold winter days, with an ocean photography calendar on your wall. I’m loving this one from Salt Shots, with its stunning Cornish wave images.
Stacking Bracelets from The Sea Tree Company
Keep it ocean-themed with these gorgeous gemstone stacking bracelets from The Sea Tree Company. Owner Olivia makes bracelets and sterling silver jewellery inspired by the Cornish & Pembrokeshire coastlines. The perfect mindful gift for the beach babes in your life!
Waterproof Key Pouch
If you and your friends are all in the water, what are you going to do with your car keys? Grab yourself a waterproof key pouch* to seal up and attach to yourself under your wetsuit, and you’re good to go!
Dryrobe
If you’re feeling like a super generous gift giver, you can’t go wrong with a DryRobe*. I use mine every time we go to the beach and go surfing and couldn’t be without it! It’s the perfect soft fluffy changing room.
Beauty Kubes
I recently tried these zero waste organic shampoo cubes from Cornwall-based company, Beauty Kubes, and I’m totally converted! I’ve tried shampoo bars in the past and what with going in the sea lots and having dry hair, I’ve always found they’ve dried out my hair even more, but after using Beauty Kubes my hair was super soft. A perfect stocking filler!
Portable Speaker from House of Marley
I love House of Marley for their sound quality and sustainable materials, and every beach trip needs a portable bluetooth speaker companion. The Chant Mini speaker* is also splash proof too!
Custom Surf Ear Plugs & Advice from Cornwall Ear Care
With regular exposure to wind and cold water, your inner ears can end up with serious damage if you don’t look after them properly. You can buy surf ear plugs anywhere, but having them custom made could be a really thoughtful gift for someone you know, as they’ll provide better protection and a much closer fit. Alex recently got a pair custom made from Cornwall Ear Care and was really impressed with the service!
Seaglass & Resin Necklaces from Love Kernow Jewellery
Lucy makes beautiful Cornish seaglass and ocean-inspired resin necklaces that look truly unique and would make a beautiful gift for any beach lover over at Love Kernow Jewellery.
GoPro Dome for underwater shots
I mean if your budget stretches to buy a GoPro* for your lucky loved one for Christmas, by all means be my guest! But if you know a water-dweller who already has one, this dome fitting* is an awesome present to help them capture high quality underwater shots.
Eco Sunscreen from Amazinc
An absolute must-have for beach lovers and surfers, we cannot forget about protecting our skin with sun screen. I’ve tried a couple love the Amazinc mineral sun screen as it’s natural, SPF 50+, not tested on animals and comes in a 100% recyclable aluminium bottle too.
Eco rubber yoga mat
Surfers need to stretch, and one of the best ways to stay in shape and strengthen your muscles for the waves is by doing yoga regularly. Why not buy your friend or family member a high quality yoga mat that’s also kind to the planet – I love mine from Complete Unity Yoga as it’s made from sustainable rubber and is even biodegradable too.
Portable mini-stove
Fancy some outdoor cooking after a dip in the ocean? It gets cold at this time of year, so a portable mini stove kit* complete with pots and a foldable spoon is perfect for a quick fry up, beans or soup to warm yourself up, and ideal for camping too! Just don’t forget to give a mini gas cartridge* to go with it to complete the present.

I need one of those dryrobes!! They look amazing. I’d get one for my partner as a gift but he’s happy stripping outdoors no matter what the weather! It would just slow him down haha. The portable speaker looks cool too, especially if it’s splash proof.
Hahaha that made me laugh! They’re super cosy I use mine all the time…my partner is the same, just wants to get in and done .
