From the glasshouse to your house – with Kernow Alstroemeria you can brighten up your home each month with locally grown flowers.
* This is a sponsored post, but all opinions are my own & I only ever write about brands I really love!
Based out of Lanoyce Nurseries in the Tamar Valley, Kernow Alstroemeria is a family run business supplying premier Alstroemeria flowers to national retailers and wholesalers across the UK. They are known throughout the country for their high standards and have won several awards, but have recently branched out into offering mail-order flower delivery too, either by one-offs or on a subscription basis for everyone!
Fantastic news for those of us who love having a fresh vase full of flowers each month to cheer up the house (especially on gloomy winter days).
There are several different varieties to choose from in their online shop, including the Kernow Collection, Kernow Signature and Kernow Sunset, or you can choose your own colours and mixes. These are all hand-picked and chosen for their premium quality, before being carefully packaged up and sent off to your home.
Mine arrived within 24 hours, and I loved that all their packaging was plastic free and recyclable too.
Lanoyce Nurseries grow Alstroemeria all year round, on their 16 acres of land (4 of which are under glass!), so ensuring they run their business in the most environmentally friendly way possible is really important to them. They now use all renewable energy sources, including biomass, solar panels, and locally sourced wood, which has won them several ethical and environmental accreditations over the years.
When the flowers arrived, I unpacked them, trimmed the stems and placed them in a large vase with plenty of water and ‘flower food’ (included in the box). It’s normal for them to look a little subdued when they first arrive, but after a couple of days and a nice long drink, they were bursting into full bloom on my kitchen table!
Mine was the ‘Kernow Collection’, their most popular subscription box for just £22.95 per month, which as I’m sure you’ll agree is full of beautiful colours and varieties.
If you follow their care guide, your flowers should last at least 10 days, or longer if you treat them well! They’re heavier and taller than bunches you might buy at the supermarket, and my bunch was so full that I’ve managed to split it into two smaller bunches, spreading the love around the house in different rooms.
Going for one of their subscription plans would make such a lovely gift idea (especially a Christmas gift for someone special!), as it’s such a nice way of giving something that keeps on giving throughout the year.
Or why not subscribe as a treat for yourself? Their subscriptions are no obligation and you can easily cancel at any time, and there’s nothing that cheers you up quite like receiving a beautiful collection of stunning flowers once a month (when you’re probably totally forgotten about it – the perfect surprise!).
Kernow Alstroemeria are running a promotion throughout October where you can get 40% off your first subscription box! Simply enter OCTOBER40 at the checkout to apply the discount.
