Things that I’m dying to do this Summer in Cornwall, and some you can try too!
I am like a 5 year old in my need to constantly have things to look forward to in life, so on the last day of our holiday in Croatia I decided to make a list of things I plan to do for the rest of the Summer. That is, if we actually get a Summer here in Cornwall – it’s currently sh*tting it down outside…
1. More paddle boarding
This was originally on my list as ‘try paddle boarding’, but I actually ticked that off last weekend in Falmouth! Had so much fun, so now obviously I just want to do more of it. Check out the vlog to see my first sesh at Gylly beach.
2. Explore the Lizard
So I have recently been made aware of how beautiful the Lizard is and how little I have explored there, so it’s my new mission to head over that way more and have some more adventures…
UPDATE – see my 2016 Lizard adventures:
Exploring Coverack & Chynhall’s Point
3. Restart fitness classes
I say ‘restart’ but it has in fact been a 2 year hiatus. I went to a few classes at our hotel on holiday and I enjoyed it so much that I want to start again now I’m home (now, if only gym memberships in Cornwall weren’t so damn expensive…).
4. Get the kayaks out
My beloved inflatable kayaks* (don’t knock ’em ’til you’ve tried ’em folks!) are currently in the attic, but I’m desperate to get them out so I can go on spontaneous river/coastal adventures!
5. Agility with Pepper
We are already mid-way through our course of agility with Trudy Swann/BadDogz, but I thought I’d include it because it is something I look forward to each week. She’s suprisingly good at it and we’ve even bought a mini agility set for the garden to practice too!
6. Get in the sea
Kayaking and paddle boarding kind of require this, but I really mean for some sea-swimming! Lord knows I’m spoilt living so close to the coast so why the heck aren’t I taking advantage of it? (Don’t say ‘the freezing Atlantic’ because I’m trying to forget that…).

7. Go camping
I love camping; I don’t know what it is but it’s one of my favourite things. Unfortunately, no-one I know likes it, so it’s going to take some serious arm-twisting but damnit, I will do it this Summer!
UPDATE – we had a fun but very wet camping trip in Dartmoor!
8. Have a BBQ on the beach
I have one planned with some Cornish bloggers in a few days, so this should be ticked off at least once for the year! How can you not?
UPDATE – we had a lovely evening at Gylly beach for a BBQ with bloggers!
9. Video more stuff
That’s kind of vague, Anna. Well done. I have recently set up a YouTube channel where I plan to do more vlogging/videos around Cornwall, so stay tuned (and subscribe of course!).
10. Go to an outdoor/on the beach gig
There are plenty of cool places around Cornwall for outdoorsy, chilled out gigs, and I’m looking forward to a few evenings out in the open air with some sweet sweet sounds! No Boardmasters for me this year, but it’s a totally great festival if you’re interested in that this year!
UPDATE – Olivia and I went to MTV Crashes Plymouth on the Hoe, and N and I went to see The Darkness at The Watering Hole on Perranporth beach which was awesome of course!
11. Do a carboot sale
Another thing that no-one else I know enjoys doing *sadface*. Selling old stuff at carboot sales makes me want to rub my hands with glee…What can I say? I like to live on the wild side of life.
UPDATE – Hannah, Jack & I did a carboot in Falmouth, with mixed success!
I’m sure if I do end up ticking these off they’ll have their own separate blog posts – so keep any eye out!
What’s on your Summer bucket list?
* Indicates an affiliate link, but I’d never include something here if I didn’t use and love it myself!
This is SUCH a good list, and one I intend to complete most of myself (minus maybe the dog agility and the inflatable kayaks) Alice xx

I will totally join in on the car boot sale!! I’ve always got so much stuff that i need to get rid of but never get around to it, or just end up donating to charity (which is great – but I could make some money back!) so count me in! Not going camping though……….. sorry :P
I had an amazing holiday in Cornwall a few years ago. It was during a heatwave and the weather was amazing. Every night we went to the beach to watch the sunset and I was so amazed by how many beach BBQs there were, it seems v popular in Cornwall. We never did it ourselves but one day I’d love to return and give it a go!
Car boots are so much fun!! I should add this to my bucket list but If I get a day off from the kids I will be bare faced, old jeans on and getting my hands dirty renovating a house. But on my bucket list this year is taking the boys out for their first sail!! Exciting! Let’s all hope for a sunny Cornish summer! Xxx
