I’m currently huddled in a pile of blankets with Pepper; Lemsip in one hand and laptop in the other.
Yes I’ve got the annual bout of flu that seems to creep up on me every year in the lead up to Christmas. Virtual hugs to anyone else suffering with this right now – it’s a stonker!
Anyway I thought it was about time for a new Friday Favourites list and I could certainly do with some cheering up thinking through things that have made me happy over the past month…
1. Cornish Creatives meetup at The Stable
If you didn’t know, I run a local Facebook group called Cornish Creatives where I occasionally organise meetups to just get together and talk about all things freelancing. This month we went to The Stable in Falmouth (they do great vegan pizzas here, by the way!) and spent a wintry afternoon chatting away next to the fire with a view of the harbour – perfect!

2. We booked a holiday!
We’d been looking at booking a ‘Winter sun’ holiday earlier in Autumn but they were just looking too expensive… but then Black Friday rolled around and we got an incredible deal, and we’re now heading off to Mexico in January – yay! I got my jabs yesterday and that was less fun…
3. Take the challenge of single-tasking
Loving these ‘Wellness Challenges’ that Geri from Because I’m Addicted keeps posting, and I thought this one suggesting you try to ‘single task’ more hit the nail on the head! I’m permanently multi-tasking so this will probably be a struggle to give up.
4. I made sushi for the first time…
I thought it was going to be super difficult but it actually wasn’t; in fact the whole process was kind of therapeutic! So I’ve stocked up on sushi rice, nori and rice vinegar and I’m going to be making it a whole lot more now I know how easy it is.
5. Creating a recipe for a ‘vibrant day’
This has been my favourite personal development article of the month; Caroline from Made Vibrant is awesome and always shares brilliant, practical thought pieces, but I particularly loved this as it must just been what I’ve been looking for lately. How to create a recipe for having a perfect day, every day!
6. Visiting the Etsy Made local fair
It was amazing to have a look around the Etsy Made Local fair in St. Ives Guidhall last weekend; there is some serious talent in our county! I bought a couple of Christmas gifts there, but many of the items I saw there I was really coveting for myself…Go check out all the talented artists & designers here!
7. Travelling for the journey, not the photos
This article feels very similar to something I touched on in my ‘if you don’t blog about it, did it really happen?‘ post. But specific to travel and seeking out destinations purely for good #photoopps and instagrammable backdrops. I’m sure we can all relate to this well and I just thought I’d share to get you thinking!
