Eat Surf Live | Cornwall’s New Travel Guide Book!

I don’t often write dedicated book review posts, but this brand new travel book about Cornwall definitely deserves a shout out!

The book is written by two Austrian travel writers, Vera Bachernegg and Katharina Maria Zimmerman, who fell in love with Cornwall back in 2009. They’ve clearly worked incredibly hard and put a lot of time and effort into this book, as they’ve really created something unique.

Eat Surf Live isn’t your standard travel guide; yes it’s brimming with useful tips, reviews and new exciting spots to add to the wishlist, along with beautiful photography as you’d expect, but what makes this book different is the fun illustrations and quirky layout, making it super engaging to read.

It’s almost like flipping through a personal journal that Vera and Katharine put together on their travels, with interviews with locals, independent business features, love notes, sketched out maps, snippets of diary entries and even little recipes dotted throughout. I adore this casual ‘sketchbook/pin-board’ feel they’ve created.

The book also has a ‘further reading’ section, with more books and websites for true Cornwall enthusiasts to continue their inspiration, and I’m so happy to say that The Cornish Life has been included at the top of their list of featured blogs!
