Events & Things to Do in Cornwall This November (2019)

November can feel like a weird time. It’s the awkward sandwich month between Halloween and December (aka, the time it’s acceptable to do Christmas things!).

Last year we were most for a lot of November, so come this year, I’d totally forgotten what it’s like to be here in Cornwall. What with going to the Big Cat Sanctuary, heading up to York to see my sister, London to see family, and then all the way to Egypt for a quick break in the sun, we basically weren’t here at all.

This year, I’m determined to make sure I don’t fall into a November slump. The weather in Cornwall has been atrocious the last few weeks, with constant rain and storms, making the whole ‘crisp Autumn sunshine walks’ ideal a distant dream. I’m also someone who LOVES Christmas, so I have to force myself to rein it in as much as I can before December the 1st… so what on Earth is there to do in November in Cornwall while I wait??

Below are some ideas and inspiration of things to do and events that are happening here in Cornwall over the next few weeks. I’ve left out all the Christmas stuff, even though a fair few Xmas markets and activities actually start happening this month – I simply can’t bring myself to start celebrating quite that early, sorry!

Fireworks at Watergate Bay, Newquay

If you missed bonfire night like I did (stuck indoors with lots of work to do), never fear! Newquay’s biggest firework display is actually happening on Sunday 10th November, between 5pm and 10.30pm.

Ice Skating at Eden

Ice skating at the Eden Project is BACK (and has been for a while, actually!) and is here to stay all the way ’til February. It’s a great family activity, and a nice way to add an extra indoor activity to your visit to Eden and make the most of your admission ticket!

Coffee Cocktail Masterclass with Origin

For £18, learn how coffee and spirits combined can create deliciously indulgent cocktails, make your very own coffee cocktail, and you enjoy samples throughout the demo. You’ll also receive a cocktail on arrival, along with a recipe to take home.

Cornwall Film Festival

Experience Cornwall’s local talent, with a range of screenings between the 15th and 17th November at The Poly in Falmouth. There’s a big line up with short and feature length films, and tickets are really good value too. Check it out on their website!

Lusty Glaze Sunday Roast Session with Daisy Clark

Enjoy a cosy Sunday lunch at Lusty Glaze beach paired with amazing music from the super talented Daisy Clark. I love listening to Daisy’s voice, and I can’t image a better warming Sunday than combining this with good food and gorgeous views!

Tarquin’s ‘Crafted in Cornwall’ Events

Tarquin’s gin are running a series of evenings to showcase the very best of Cornish Craft at their distillery just outside of Padstow. With a selection of local producers ranging from surfboard shapers, apothecaries, foodies and jewellers, there are 3 speakers at each event (November’s one is on the 27th November, 6pm – 8pm). Tickets are limited and only cost £5 each (which will be donated to charity), which includes a G&T too of course! Find out more and get your tickets on the Tarquin’s website.

Live Wreath Making Workshop

Okay FINE this one is technically a little bit festive… but if you’re planning on getting your decorations up for December 1st, you need to start prepping in November! Lisa from ‘Down by the River Florals’ is running wreath workshops at the Poly in Falmouth, and her first one is on November 30th. Check it out on her Facebook event page!
