Events & Things To Do in Cornwall (Autumn 2016)

A list of Cornish events and festivities to add to your calendar this Autumn!

There’s nothing like a good selection of Autumnal events and festivals to get you in the seasonal mood! If you love Autumn in all its Cornish glory, you definitely need to check these out:

Oktoberfest Truro

7th – 8th October @ 7pm, Truro Piazza, 18+

A Bavarian celebration involving beer, food and music, all sponsored by Skinners Brewery. If you fancy a bit of a piss up to the sound of a brass oompah band, then get yo’ tickets here: https://mada.tickethive.co.uk/oktoberfest.

Kehelland Apple Day

8th October @ 11am – 5pm, Kehelland Trust Camborne

A more family-friendly event, the Kehelland Apple Day always reminds me of Autumn days as a child drinking fresh apple juice and making Halloween crafts! Falmouth Oyster Festival

13th – 16th October @ 10am – 11pm, Event Square Falmouth

Please Note: You don’t have to love oysters to enjoy this event! In fact, I hate them – bleh. But don’t worry, no-one’s gonna force them on you; it’s a general celebration of quality seafood and cooking, so you can expect chef demonstrations, live music, sustainability talks and (of course) a wide variety of tasty seafood to eat (not just oysters!). Falmouth Beer Festival

20th – 22nd October @ varying times, Princess Pavillions Falmouth

This post is fast becoming an advert for food an alcohol, but hey – that’s what being Cornish is all about, right? Admission to this tasting event is £10, and includes £6 worth of beer tokens (roughly 3 pints), a commemorative glass and programme – so get your beer geek on! Halloweden at Eden Project

22nd – 30th October, Eden Project St. Austell

Keep those pesky kids entertained during half term with fun and festivities at Eden. There will be storytelling and magical performances, and of course the ice rink will be there for the start of the season! Feel free to dress your kids up all cute and scary too <3. Cornwall Film Festival

2nd – 13th November @ varying times, Varying locations

Celebrating local and international filmmaking, the Cornwall Film Festival is a great place to let your true film buff self go crazy! Truro City of Lights

23rd November @ 7pm, Lemon Quay Truro

This much anticipated parade through Cornwall’s city marks the beginning of Winter and Christmas festivities – yay! It’s always super busy, but always worth it to see the amazing lanterns that have taken local school children weeks to make! More info at: http://www.cityoflights.org.uk/.
