Falmouth locals – how well do you know your hometown? This new Falmouth-based app is full of hidden gems and fun ways to get out and exploring!
Whenever I get asked where my favourite town in Cornwall is, I always respond with Falmouth. I might be biassed (I do only live 15 mins away!), but I truly think that Falmouth has it all.
Based on the mouth of the River Fal with one of the deepest natural harbours in the world, Falmouth is not only home to stunning coastline views and walks, picture-perfect beaches and a huge variety of independent eateries and shops, it’s also bursting with culture as well. From maritime history and castles, to art galleries and theatre, there’s something for everyone in this beautiful town.
Its uniqueness is why I love it, but we all know the sad truth about the suffering of British high streets thanks to online shopping and increasing business rates at the moment – and Cornwall sees a lot of this too.
Introducing the new XplorFalmouth app!
Cornish tech company, Data Duopoly, have created an exciting (free) app to help celebrate Falmouth’s high street and highlight the amazing independent businesses and culture in our town.
They’re on a mission to help us Cornish locals discover hidden gems and partnered with Falmouth BID to create this central hub where users can find:

My favourite ways to use the XplorFalmouth app
I’ve been using the XplorFalmouth app over the last couple of weeks and have loved stumbling upon things to do and places I’ve never heard of before. My fave parts are:
The ‘Today’s Events’ area
Check in on the app every day and discover new events happening in Falmouth that you may not have known about! I look forward to seeing what’s going on each day here.
The interactive map
(Especially the eat & drink one – obviously!)
It’s fun to be able to view Falmouth from a birds-eye view and see all the amazing places to visit for a coffee catch up or a snack in the sun! You can even tell it to ‘take me there’ and it’ll provide directions to your chosen spot.
Supporting a female-run business
Another of my favourite things about the XplorFalmouth app is that the company that has created it – Data Duopoly – is run by female founder & CEO, Tanuvi Ethunandan! As someone who has also worked in tech/software myself, I love seeing women doing amazing things in this industry!

This is a great idea, I have long wanted to go to the beach and have a couple of smoothies, I think your recipe will be very amazing. Recently I saw laguna beach images, and I really wanted to get to the beach, especially since I have not been on vacation for a long time.
