I couldn’t bring myself to type the ‘C’ word in the title just yet, so ‘festive’ it is.
Is it bad that I really am feeling ‘festive’ already? We spent the weekend shopping for trees, drinking peppermint hot chocolates and getting cosy by the fire, so you can’t really blame me for these feelings.
Even though last year I convinced N to purchase an artificial tree with me (hear me out; it has snow covered tips and saves us money buying a tree every year, okay?), but we couldn’t miss out on the excitement of getting a real tree, so on Saturday we joined N’s family for a tree-shopping trip to Penventon Farm on the outskirts of Truro.
This weekend felt pretty much like the beginning of Winter. It was suddenly very cold (and very wet on Sunday!), and I quickly realised I was in urgent need of a pair of gloves, much like Emma’s super cosy ones pictured below! FYI, this is why we needed the hot chocolates obviously.
As the day turned swiftly into darkness (I’m not impressed by the 4:30pm sunsets right now, btw – not cool), we got ready for some bonfire night fun at Heartlands.
I made an attempt to photograph fireworks and it failed miserably, but we had a great time anyway and ate delicious street food in front of the bonfire. Shout out to the rain for holding off until everyone went home – babe!
How did you spend your bonfire night?

Wah – it is so early for Christmas trees! I could definitely get into a longer festive season though! We didn’t do anything for bonfire night :( they don’t have it here in Canada. We did get a couple of sparklers though and quickly went outside to have our own mini celebration.
Awh my evening totally lacked sparklers! I couldn’t find them in shops anywhere! And waahhh bonfire night sounds like the most Canada thing :( that sucks xx
CHRISTMAS CHRISTMAS CHRISTMAS! I’m so so excited and have no problems dropping the C Bomb! I should be careful though, every year I get ahead of myself and get too excited too early and then lose all enthusiasm by December!
Ooh no gotta save the excitement for December! It’s totally creeping in though … way too early this year; I’m almost embarrassed! Haha xx
Ah Christmas!!! YES!! Shopping for trees must be so exciting – I literally can’t wait, I’m being very strong for not whipping out the Christmas songs until December (although I’ve come very close!)
Your bonfire night sounds lush! – I do love it when the weather plays nice!! I was boring and stayed in as I went out the night before and was very tired, but I was able to see them from my window so snuggled up with a hot chocolate of my own and watched them all cosy in bed!!

Ooh now you’ve made me want a hot chocolate…
And yes I’m very strict on the Christmas songs too – there’s an awful advert on atm where they are playing my fave Xmas tune (Slade) and I’m seriously concerned that it’s going to ruin it for me by December :( xx
Haha sorry! What really? Already?
Hang on WHAT?!?! You’ve already bought your tree?! It’s only just November you crazy thing! I mean, I love Christmas, but buying a tree now only means you’ll have needles EVERYWHERE by the actual day! Alice xx

Calm yourself down ahaha
1) I did not buy a tree – I’m perfectly happy with my fake one in the attic ;) – we just joined the family
2) You don’t take the tree home, you just tag the one you like and let it grow a bit more and then they deliver it to you :P
S’THERE!
Xx
Oh thank goodness, I was seriously worried for a minute!! Haha xxx
I’m with Alice and Holly. You CANNOT ( < caps lock intentional) buy your tree at the start of November. That is crazy talk.
Kudos for recognising your mistake getting a fake, not-real, pretend tree in the past, and I applaud you for admitting your error and moving on with your life. But whoa! Hold your horses on the whole get-a-tree-now thing!
I must have seriously mis-represented what we were doing haha.
Sadly for N, we are keeping our fake tree (I love it!!), and we were just following the family around for them to choose their trees. Plus we were ‘ordering’ them to be delivered in December, not getting them now. I promise we aren’t crazy!! Haha x
Phew. I thought, what with Brexit and Trump, well, anything’s possible.
But N’s right about the fake tree. It’s not a good look. Let Pepper chew a real one.
