So my birthday surprise happened.
On the Friday, N and I headed off to Newquay airport after dropping P-dawg off to stay at N’s mum’s. I had packed my own bags of course, but I had no idea where we were going or what we would be doing for my birthday weekend.
After sussing out that we were headed to Manchester, I innocently looked forward to the prospect of shopping and eating out in fancy places, until we got to our hotel. N revealed to me that we would be seeing Florence and the Machine live that night!
Much rolling around on the bed squealing like a lunatic happened. I have always adored their music and have been moaning about going to their 2015 tour for a while. Boyf points to N!
Let me just say here that we had some of the best seats EVER! This is the best part of having a music industry other half; free stuff and great seats for the win!
Alas, Florence was (of course) incredible. I didn’t even take any photos because I was too mesmerised, and perhaps a little bit emotional…BUT you don’t need me to tell you about how epic it was, you know how great she is!
What I wanted to talk about today were the special guests/support act – The Staves. They’ve been around for a while but in case you haven’t heard of them before, I encourage you to IMMEDIATELY check them out. I’ll help you – here’s them at Glasto this year:
The harmonies! The hair! Man, they were brilliant. If you like Fleetwood Mac and/or Haim, you will love them.
SO if you’re now thinking “Man, I love that sound!”, you’re in luck! They’re coming to Princess Pavillions in Falmouth in November; woohoo! Get your tickets here.
