Friday Favourites #1
It’s happening. I’m jumping on the ‘Friday Faves’/’Things from this week’ boat.
Some people hate ’em, some people love ’em, and I personally rather enjoy them. For me, reading peoples’ Friday Favourites each week is a great way to discover new blogs (when people link to articles they’ve enjoyed this week) and generally have a read/nosey at things that they’ve been up to or found to be worth writing about!
So without further ado, here are my favourites from the official last week of Summer!
1 | MICHAEL HYATT REMINDING ME WHO NOT TO TAKE ADVICE FROM IN LIFE
Basically, don’t listen to the fat dietician or the makeup artist with lipstick on her teeth. Take important advice ONLY from people with the credentials and experience to back it up.
2 | THE ASOS SALE
Have you SEEN it? So many treasures, so little money left in my bank account. TGIPD (Thank God it’s Pay Day).
3 | THIS EPIC STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE TO SELF-PUBLISHING BY REGINA
I wasn’t even planning on writing a book, but now I don’t know if I can afford not to…
4 | WATCHING BETTY DRAPER GET SASSY IN SEASON 4 OF MAD MEN
Much like Skylar from Breaking Bad, Betty Draper is getting sassy-er by the series. Her shady looks are on point.

5 | RUNNING AROUND WITH PEPPER AT HAYLE BEACH
My sister came to stay for part of the week, so we went down to Hayle beach one evening and made her run through the streams with Pepper. The excitement on Pepper’s face was adorable, but unfortunately I didn’t get any photos :(

Because I am a cynic, and also because life just ain’t always peachy, I felt the need to include a couple of things that have been less than favourable this week:
1 | TRYING OUT THIS ‘CHOC CHIP COOKIE BAR’ RECIPE & FAILING
Now I’d hate to blame the recipe for this not working out, and Lord knows I’m not the most skilled cook in the world, but this was like a weird bread-cake with chocolate chips in it. Not the squidgy, brownie thing I was expecting. Again, no pics; soz.
2 | PEPPER HAS BEEN POORLY TOWARDS THE END OF THE WEEK (AGAIN!)
I think she’s possibly eaten something that doesn’t agree with her, because she was quite sick on Thursday. Think she’s getting over it now, but I’ve got my eye on her…THE JOYS OF OWNING A PUPPY.
Haven’t checked out the Asos sale yet, but in going to now. My bank account is not going to be impressed with me.

We have had a poorly Pickle with an ear infection :( it is really stubborn too. We haven’t been able to take her to the beach in so long.
Oh no that’s such a shame :( I hope it clears up soon! We found out that Pepper ingested some polluted (sewage) seawater at Hayle beach when we went out on the Wednesday, which caused her to be ill all Thursday! How awful is that? I only read on the news on Thursday evening that Gwithian (next to Hayle) had a huge sewage dump on the Wednesday and had been closed to public. So shocked by it – can’t believe this still happens up to 5 times a year here! Right in the middle of tourist season too! There were loads of kids in the water too, not just Pepper… x
How disgusting :( poor Pepper, no wonder she was unwell the next day. I really hope that she feels better now x
Mad Men has been on my to watch list for far too long, I must get around to watching it!
I honestly didn’t think I’d like it (I’m not usually one for anything set before 1970), but it’s SO GOOD! The best parts in it are the sassy women who are just starting to find their independence from men – such awesome social commentary going on! x
