Wedding Dresses, Animal Lovers & PMS (Friday Favourites #11)
The last two weeks have been a strange mix of sun, rain and emotions!
Weather wise, Cornwall is all over the place; we’ve had rain followed by sunny bbq evenings, followed by random sea mist, followed by the #hottestdayoftheyear, followed by thunderstorms. Standard.
Emotions wise, this last week has been pretty all over the place too to be honest, thanks to the wonderful fact of life that is PMS. I mean, I nearly had a break down at the weekend because it was sunny outside but I had to do chores – yep, like a toddler.
So this week I’m including some non-faves in this post, because life isn’t always dreamy, and because I like to rant on the internet sometimes.
FAVES:
1. Wedding dress shopping!
Let me first say NOT FOR MYSELF, before you get any ideas. I am a bridesmaid for N’s brother’s lovely fiance and we spent a whole Saturday looking at beautiful dresses for the big day next year. We visited Amanda K and County Cream in Truro and it was the best fun ever!
And yes, she found the one and she said yes to the dress, and all that good stuff.

2. These dream jobs for animal lovers
It is now my dream to become a Doggy Food Truck Owner. That is all.
3. Sea swimming in the sun
This really salvaged my foul mood this week – first N and I went for a dip at Godrevy beach at the weekend, and then Sam from Strawberry Squeeze and I went swimming at Swanpool on Tuesday (aka the hottest day of the year) – blog post to follow.

NON-FAVES:
1. Ruining all my fave clothes
Apparently I am unable to adult, because in the past two weeks I have managed to shrink my favourite trousers in the wash, rip the crotch of the replacement pair I bought, and stain my entire collection of striped tops (I like stripes, ‘kay!).
Do you know how hard it is to get stains out of a striped top without bleaching the black stripes?
Very.

2. Painting the house
It has now come to point in our home ownership where we must paint the whole outside of the house. Apparently this is usually necessary every 2 years, and I just wasn’t expecting it to come around so quickly.
It honestly makes me wish I lived in a flat again!
3. Ridiculously expensive software
Email marketing software is much more expensive than I expected. Once your list starts growing it becomes an unavoidable cost… but signing up to pay £70 a month for some software made me weep a little.

Yesssss to sea swimming and wedding dresses, (I got really shocked and excited for a second there), and surely having to extend your email marketing means you have loads of people signed up to send them too – YAY! Alice xxx

It does, which is great, but I need to find a way of monetising my list (this is for byRosanna btw) so that it’s worth me spending £80 a month on it! :S xx
Oh dear. The clothing dilemmas really made me laugh. Sounds exactly like something I would do.
Hehe, I’m a fail at adult life. But honestly I’d rather do anything else (including cleaning the bathroom or washing dishes) than do laundry – it’s the worst imo!
Your poor clothes! I have destroyed so many of my favourite clothes :( I miss sea swimming so so much!
Laundry is the bane of my life. I’d rather do ANY other chore!
Oh man! I feel bad about whinging for having to sign up to £28 a month for photography-business-related software D: Why is freelance life expensive?! I like the honesty of a post that’s not all about the good and graceful in life – it’s fun to embrace and share a moan :P We are British after all ^_^ It’s what we do best! :D
I hope the house learns to paint itself and saves you the trouble ;) I can imagine that is an extremely arduous task. This must be why Pebbledash was invented ^_^ Even though I’m not always certain inventing pebbledash was the best decision in building aesthetic :P (comes from experience of having lived in a Pebbledash bungalow)
My favourites of this week was pigging out on all of the food and exploring Landsend on Sunday. It was also my graduation so I ate like Henry the 8th.
My non-favourite was my new part time job and carrying the anxious feeling of knowing it’s not right and that I’m so done with waitressing but not having a choice because money :(
Hope to see you soon Anna! :) <3
The worst part? Our house IS pebbledash, but at some point someone decided they would paint all the pebbledash, and now it needs upkeeping – how annoying is that? Pebbledash is SO HARD TO PAINT!!
Ohh yes congrats on your amazing results and graduation! :D Sorry about the job thing :( waitressing is all sorts of hard work, but money is pretty important too!
You too! <3 xx
