Lenses, Love & Laundry (Friday Favourites #21)
Another month has passed, and it feels like Winter may just be melting away!
The last few days have felt particularly Spring-like here in Cornwall (a welcome respite from the slew of storms and mini hurricanes we’ve been having!), and if that isn’t enough to be happy about right now, then I don’t know what is.
Below are some favourite things that have been keeping me going through the last Wintery month:
1. New iPhone lenses!
I did one of those spur-of-the-moment, late-night purchases, but rather than immediately regret it, I’m actually really excited about these clip on iPhone lenses*. They’re a bit fiddly to get used to (and I can’t seem to get the 10x wide angle one to focus… still working on this!), but for £7.99 you can’t go wrong with the macro lens that’s included. I’ve been stalking around the garden with it like a crazy lady…

2. Discovering peanut butter in porridge is the best thing ever
I’m sorry, why did no one tell me this before?! Adding a generous scoop of peanut butter to your morning porridge not only gives it a good protein kick but MY GOD IT TASTES DELICIOUS. Somehow it makes the whole thing extra creamy, and I’ve been sweetening it with half a mashed banana too. #Dreamy
3. Learning ‘how to laundry’
Of all the chores, laundry is my least favourite. I friggin’ hate it. But I’ve known for a while that the source of this hate is mainly because I don’t really know what I’m doing. I just put whatever powder marked ‘laundry’ I can find into the tray, shove the clothes in (yes I do colour separate them…) and then get mad when they shrink or fade or stretch. Thus, I have now brushed up using Sherry’s laundry tips and I feel armed with power in the form of knowledge!
4. Valentines Day roses
After a weekend away in St. Ives for a combined anniversary/V-Day treat, I wasn’t expecting to receive anything from N on the 14th. So when the day came and went I wasn’t fussed about not getting a card etc.; we rarely celebrate Valentines ‘properly’ anyway (because love isn’t just for V-Day folks!). But on Wednesday 15th a bunch of red roses and a card arrived for me in the post! N assured me this was not his fault for being ‘last minute’, but Yodel’s couriers for – as usual – being tardy. Damn it Yodel (and thanks N! <3).

5. Ways to be kind
I really loved reading through Mandy’s list of 50 Random Acts of Kindness; it gave me loads of ideas and inspiration and got me thinking about how I can make each day more positive (always an important goal!). I particularly love the one about saying thank you to people and also going to dog shelters to play with dogs and make them happy.
6. The ‘Adore Your Cycle’ ebook
Wow – I’m about half way through this book now and I’m really loving it. I’ve been following Claire’s blog, ‘This is Lifeblood’, for a while now and I really love her values. When I first heard about her ebook, ‘Adore Your Cycle’, I was a bit worried it would be a bit ‘out there’ for me, but after reading more about it and people’s reviews I decided why not! It’s been amazing to learn more about my body and get in touch with my emotions in each stage of the month, learning about how I can ‘harness my hormones’ to make the most out of each week in a cycle. I love how open & friendly Claire writes too; she clearly says to take what resonates with you and leave the rest if you want, rather than being pushy with ideologies. Would absolutely recommend this to all women of any age!

7. HIIT classes with Olivia
One of my goals for 2017 was to do some more interesting exercise other than walking/hiking each week, and I’ve started that recently by joining Olivia at her HIIT class in Falmouth. It’s tough work but fun and hopefully a great way to get some toning happening!
8. Creating & receiving wedding invites!
N’s brother his fiance are getting married this Summer and they asked me to help design their invites! The whole design and putting everything together was really all Emma though, and look how beautifully they turned out. And yes, I need to get my RSVP sent off ASAP!

I know I’m well impressed for £7.99 :)
LOL @ Learning how to laundry. :) It has saved me quite a lot of money just by picking up a few tips and tricks over the years. Stuff lasts longer too. I am jealous of your iPhone Camera. I only have an iPod Touch, so my camera sucks.. I think I may need to upgrade.
