Friday Favourites #6
So, this was actually supposed to publish last Friday.
But obviously the ONE weekend that I am actually away, WordPress decides it’s going to do it’s own thing instead.
Anyway, I had a good weekend away (thanks for asking), and here are some of my fave things of the past… 14 days:
1. This article with 27 questions to ask instead of ‘What do you do?’
I am completely guilty of this. I love finding out what people do for a living, but once they’ve answered the question the conversation usually slows to a halt. Not everyone is passionate about their jobs, and certainly not everyone feels it’s a good introduction to themselves as a person.
2. Alabama Shakes
I’m probably late to the party on this (I usually always am), but I am loving these guys at the moment. This girl got soul.
3. A Neurotic’s Guide to Small Talk
I feel like this was something I needed in my life. All of these things happen in my head during 90% of conversations; seeing it written out is hilarious.
4. This hilarious video about what it’s like to be ‘Instagram Husband’
Words can’t describe how perfect this is. If you post a lot on Instagram, and have a significant other, you need to watch this. Full stop.
5. Going to the Turtle Bay opening in Cardiff last week
Free cocktails? Yes. Free food? Yes. #lovemylife
6. James Blunt’s incredible Twitter comebacks

7. Having snow flurries on my website
Thanks WordPress, I love you for this. Much festive, very Christmas.

So many great things here – I love love love james blunt’s twitter, and the instagram husband thing made me laugh a lot, although Adam refuses to take photos of me most of the time, hence why there probably aren’t that many on instagram! *sob* Alice xx

I love the first article! I wish more people asked these questions rather than “what do you do?”. I hate talking about my job and one people have worked out what I do, then this just leads to “how’s the phd?” every time I see them again. I’d rather any of these other questions! I think I’m going to make an extra effort to use them myself!
