Friday Favourites 7

Friday Favourites #7

The first week of the year is complete. Thank God for that.

Here are some things that have kept me cheerful this week:

1. Great examples of Fragile Masculinity in 2015
These made me snort-laugh into my coffee, and I’m sure you’ll appreciate it too.

2. The Nutri-Ninja
After months of me disallowing any more appliances in the house, and N moaning that he wanted a Nutri-Ninja/Bullet, he finally received one for Christmas. And y’know what? I’m loving it. #SmoothiesForDays

3. This awesome post about what it’s like in the mind of a writer
“It’s not that I don’t enjoy the company of other people, it’s that I’m too often so preoccupied and entranced by the stories and characters in my mind that I can’t focus until I get their lives on the page.”

4. Being a ‘multi-passionate’
It started off with a thread in a Facebook Group, and since then I’ve found more articles like this one about how people need to stop telling everyone to ‘find their one true passion‘. Some people find it easy, but some don’t. It’s okay to have lots of passions and hobbies, and yes, it is possible to monetise lots of passions all at once too!

5. These ‘introvert mantras
Okay, so there’s a little controversy that these are probably supposed to be about social anxiety, rather than introversion, but as an Introvert who may or may not have occasional social anxiety, I thought they were spot on and hilarious.

And one thing that hasn’t impressed me this week…

Learning to use Snapchat
I tried it out a few years back when I was at uni, but hated it and never bothered since. But this week I decided it could be a good outlet for constant spammy photos of my furbaby, so I had to enlist the help of my 16 year old sister to understand how the heck to use it.

Literally, the user experience is just the worst. How is it so popular??

Snapchat wtf

    1. I’m getting used to it now, I just found is SO difficult to understand in the first instance.
What’s your username? Mine is annac42 – follow for continuous dog video spam ;) X

  1. I’m with you on the user experience of Snap chat. I don’t get it at all. And it makes me feel embaraced, as I often asked for help on tech stuff and I learned HTML, CSS, Php and basic javascript and apple script and a ton of other stuff all by my self. But I cant teach myself to use this stupid app.

  2. I can’t get on board with Snapchat… I’m not sure if I’m just sending things out into the void or it’s going somewhere and someone is seeing it. I think it’s for people with more friends, like WhatsApp. I don’t have enough friends for all there social apps, I’m better at ones that allow strangers to follow you :)
