It’s been a while since I’ve done a Friday Favourites, but I’m all up for sporadic-ness in life.
In fact, my last Friday Favourites featured me booking my Summer holiday to Croatia – which I have just returned from! Funny that. For some context also the above photo is from one of several rainy days during our holiday, but we had a fantastic time anyway!
I digress; on with my fave things from the past few weeks!
1. Snapchat has become an (embarassingly) big part of my life…
Oops, like I need another social network to waste time on. If you fancy following me, my username is annac42; it’s a pretty informal insight into my everyday life including my dog, food, Cornwall and did I mention my dog?
2. ‘Don’t let your 20s be your decade of Pinterest Spirituality’
If you read one thing today, let it be this article. I’ve been following TFD for a few weeks now and I love all their posts, but this one made me laugh out loud for reals! Here’s a little taster…
“We take a major world religion from another part of the world, throw out the parts of it that don’t jive with our lifestyle, weirdly mix it up with keeping your email inbox at zero and turning off your cellphone, and put it on an inspiration board that is meant to get you to achieve your professional and financial dreams.”
Spot on, right?
3. Having a car that works and can actually go above 60 mph without it dying!
Words can’t even describe my love for my new Bae (I may or may not have named my car Bae, judge me if you will). Owning a Mini was actually a bucket list item for me and ticking it off that list was exciting in itself. Other than it being a total beaut to drive, it’s also just nice generally having my freedom back!
4. My first vlog on my brand new YouTube channel!
I took a few videos during our Croatia holiday and after a few days mulling it over in my head, I took the plunge and created a vlog with those clips and added it to a new YouTube channel called TheCornishLife. It’s not really a big deal I guess but in my mind it’s a big step towards getting more creative and putting myself out there more – so yay for that! #pleasesubscribe ;)
5. Olivia’s ‘Non-Clubber’s Guide to Ibiza’
Because not all of us are party peeps and that’s cool! I also think it’s awesome to show this amazing place as more than just a clubbing destination, it looks gorgeous – take me there now pls thanks.
6. Nod by Adrian Barnes
Omg I actually read a book while I was on holiday – first time in years! It took me weeks to find a decent dystopian thriller (Hunger Games kept popping up ffs), and I definitely found it in this book. Totally gripping reading and the author has a great dry sense of humour that I love, plus some interestingly relatable quotes in there too – here are a few of my faves:
“The poets, the sensitive souls who submit their work to literary journals, outnumbered by those who read those same publications by a margin of about ten to one. Everyone wanting to be heard; no one interested in listening.” – Dayum, blogging anyone?
“I marvel at people who dare to wear white – did they think that the world wouldn’t touch them?” – Just loved this!
7. Sophie’s list of ethical independent fashion brands
So much love for this list! She’ll be continuously updating this, plus she has a Pinterest board dedicated to it too so bookmark it or pin it or something folks – we need things like this in our lives.
awww thank you for sharing my post! And I’m going to read the Pinterest post, and have a look at that Ethical clothing list! :D
No worries :D Hope you love the Pinterest post; it’s pretty spot on (#guiltyascharged though) x
