We have had some kickass weather here in Cornwall this April, and it’s making me want to get our garden into shape…
Pinterest has been providing me with some great inspiration and DIY posts on how to make our garden fabulous…
Can you tell that I’m longing for some deck? (N and I can’t talk about this without laughing; find out why here)
After lusting over this for several days, I’ve just ordered the perfect hammock for our garden! I can’t wait to put it up.

Lucky for you guys, I bought 2 so that I can give one away! If you’d like to enter this 2 week giveaway, follow the Rafflecopter instructions below:
All of these garden ideas look so pretty. Sadly, I do not own a garden and all I can to is stare at those pictures :D Lucky for me though, forests and parks are free to visit. Not quite as private as a garden, but just as good ♥ I hope you’ll share pictures of your garden, once you finished working on it :)

Awh, walking through the woods is always lovely as well! I don’t have any trees in my garden, so I do miss out on that (I’m hanging my hammock up using a hammock stand instead). Doing up the garden will be a slow (and expensive!) process but I can’t wait to do a before and after post about it :) x
Ah such lovely images! We’ve started to look at houses recently & I’m so excited to have our own garden for the dogs and a place to build an outside studio for me to work in :) Good luck with your garden makeover! x
Awh wow that sounds amazing! Thank you very much; good luck with your house hunt! :) x
I wish I had a garden I could do things in! I can’t wait to own my own house so that I can grow veggies and flowers and make it pretty! Love your plans it looks super comfy! xx
I thought that too when we first got a house, but I’m actually crap at gardening and tend to kill any flowers or plants I’m supposed to be looking after Dx . I think I could just about manage a small herb section, but other than that I’d be useless – hence all the really manageable, non-flowerbed inspiration photos haha! x
I’d love to have a garden like those Pinterest ones. Damn you Pinterest, why must you tease me so! My garden will never be as nice :(

I know right! I say it’s inspiration, but really its just admiration – there’s no way I can afford to get all of that done haha! x
All those gardens look amazing! Our grass is awful with the 2 dogs causing chaos on it! Plans for spring are to hire a rotavator and level our garden off and improve the soil (& hopefully have lovelier grass when it grows again!) A hammock would be lovely to laze away in .. :)
Good plan! Pepper is only small but causes enough chaos to ruin the grass all by herself haha. We have been considering fake grass but it’s quite expensive!
Thanks for entering :) x
Lovely giveaway thank you! My plans for the Spring are to wallpaper my bedroom and tend to my garden. Last year my dad helped me to build a rockery around our fishpond and this Spring I want to buy a birdhouse and bath to attract more wildlife to our garden. Thank you!
Awh that sounds great! I’d love to have more wildlife in our garden too, but our puppy would just scare them away haha.
Thanks for entering! :) x
The gardens are amazing. Wish I had one like it. We are planning on doing a patio area with some nice flowers
Awh lovely :) We are planning to do a patio area too, but it’s much more expensive to do than I thought! Time to save up…
Thanks for entering :) x
I am going to get lots of garden bulbs for the different seasons, have enjoyed seeing the spring ones coming up, so going to get more so something coming up every season
Ah yes that’s a great idea :) It’s nice to have the garden in use all year round. Thanks for entering! x
I need to sort out by garden – it got completely abandoned and overgrown last year whilst I was planning my wedding. Now I need to cut everything back and get some flowers in the ground to brighten things up!
Sounds lovely :) Thanks for entering! x
Chilling out as much as I can in the unseasonably good weather! I’m also trying to grow a few plants in pots this year (i’m not greenfingered!), so I’ll be spending a lot of time watching them to see if they grow… Really nice giveaway, thanks :)
I’m not green-fingered either at all! Best of luck though :) Thanks for entering! x
Carrying on with the garden and hopefully getting it done for the summer.
Haha I hope so too – good luck! Thanks for entering :) x
To get outside when we have the lovely weather to do so; whether it’s to do some gardening, relaxing or even going out for the day somewhere. We seem to have spent far too much time indoors this winter. It’s time to blow away those cobwebs. x
Me too! I can’t wait to get out and do some exploring with the dog once she’s allowed outside again!
Thanks for entering :) x
I’ve spent lots of time in my garden already this spring. I’ve just got a Karcher pressure washer so will be spending the summer polishing it up :) x
Ahh they’re so much fun – it’s so satisfying spraying the grime off everything! I don’t have one but N’s mum has and I’m looking forward to borrowing it this Spring :P
Thanks for entering! x
I cannot wait to start planting all my bulbs and watch my perennials come into flower.
Awh I’m sure they’ll look lovely :) Thanks for entering! x
We have begun redecorating the living room and my youngest sons bedroom. Lots to be done.
Haha sounds like you’re a bit like us – we’ve started redecorating most rooms in the house, but haven’t finished any of them so they’re all half done; woops! Need to hurry up and get things sorted soon :)
Thanks for entering :) x
Hopefully getting all the veggies going as I finally have all the prep work done in the garden
Yum that sounds great – nothing better than home grown veggies! Just wish I had a green thumb…
Thanks for entering! :) x
Having my attic boarded over and a hatch with ladder fitted, so I plan to box up and organise things which I don’t often need to access.
Ooh that sounds great – you’ll have so much more storage! Hope it goes well; thanks for entering :) x
We’re moving house soon so over the next month or two I’m going to be getting things organised for that (and also spend a lot of time on Pinterest looking at ideas for the new house and garden!)
Hehe Pinterest will ruin you bank balance on garden stuff xD Good luck with the move and thanks for entering :) x
I’m going to get my garden looking stunning so that i can start enjoying some evening bbq’s!x
Yes, I can’t wait to get the bbqs out! Thanks for entering :) x

Awh that sounds good! Thanks for entering :) x
To go on lots of nice long walks
Lovely, me too! Thanks for entering :) x
My plans for Spring are showing my little baby the outside world. We’ve spent a while hibernating since he was born but now it’s timeto explore and learn. I can imagine swinging on a hammock while the hubby cooks up a barbeque!
Awwh that’s adorable! :) I’m sure he’ll love walks in the park and picnics outside etc. Thanks for entering! x
We had our holiday in Great Yarmouth at Easter so summer will be spent at home – my man works long hours so we really appreciate those lovely sunsets after a lovely day where we can have a tea in the garden! My plans are mainly to sow more seeds and get the garden looking good (hardly any flowers here when we moved in 4 years ago and have been adding year by year to it to get it looking good on quite a tight budget so seeds are brilliant. I put my name down for an allotment so I have been reading up on what I can grow – apparently i will have to wait 2/3 years so i have plenty of time for preparation!!!! The other plans I have is getting the teenager off the computer and outside – I have been talking to other parents about this and it seems all teenage boys seem to be allergic to fresh air and sunshine! haha
Haha and teenage girls I promise! My teenage sister barely ever goes outside and would much rather sit on the computer all day instead, even if the weather is perfect!
Good luck with all your plans, thanks for entering :) x
To sort my garden out and enjoy the sun.
That sums up my Spring too! Thanks for entering :) x
I’m currently eyeing up the size of my balcony and this pretty hammock looks like it would fit perfectly :) And hopefully in the not too distant future I’ll have an actual garden for it! In the meantime my plans for the spring are to create an urban garden on my balcony and try and grow some herbs and plants and not kill them in record time :)
Oh that sounds so cool :) A Hammock on a balcony would awesome!
Thanks for entering & good luck! :) xx
spend lots of time in the garden!
Good plan! :) Thanks for entering x
I’ve been planning my own little veggie patch in my garden
Awesome! I’ve always wanted a veggie patch but I’m crap at gardening haha!

Lovely! We have a hammock on our balcony, but it is made out of an old sheet. Two years ago Luke fell right through it when it ripped which, of course, I found hilarious!!
Haha that does sound hilarious xD I had never thought of having a hammock on a balcony – sounds awesome! X
Sort out the garden and then spend lots of time enjoying it!
Awh lovely!

Yeah I really need to do some cleaning too…Thanks for entering! :) x
Just wanted to drop by and say how much I’ve been enjoying having a nosey at your blog! I stumbled upon your via twitter the other night while looking for more blogs of this kind of genre.
Then I saw the hammock and was like, whaaatt as I’ve been trying to find a good one for our little yard.
Would love to know what you think of yours once you have it up and in action before I order my own haha.
As for Spring, the cleaning is done with, so many dog walks and bird watching sessions are in store for us.
Best wishes, Danielle xo

We’ve been clearing the back garden for the boys to play out in
Awesome :) Best of luck! Thanks for entering x
to sort my garden out
Best of luck! Thanks for entering :) x
What a fab post! We’re contemplating decking our garden as the amount of grass is so minimal it seems silly to spend the time moving the lawn (about 2 minutes!) I wasn’t sure about decking it as I like the greenery, but we can have lots of plants in pots, a lovely little table and chairs, a shed (to keep Adam happy!) and you’ve inspired me to get a hammock – we have the perfect place to put it as well which is a lovely sunny spot! :) Alice xxx

Ah that sounds awesome! We were thinking about decking on our concrete area in our garden. It’s quite a big area though, and the quotes we got are seriously expensive! So we’re thinking about just paving it with nice patio slabs instead. A hammock will be such a nice feature! x
Would really like to put some nice new fences up to replave tatty privet hedges
Great! Thanks for entering :) x
Tidy up the house and garden and get rid of all the rubbish and unwanted items.
Good plan! Thanks for entering :) x
Lots of DIY around the house. x

My biggest task is to sort the veggie patch and the garage – although I need it to stop raining
Yeah I’m so annoyed it rained this whole bank holiday :( Was planning to get some much done!
Thanks for entering :) x
The rain held off for us today – although it was freezing cold. Didn’t manage to mow the amazon but did get the veggie patch and garage sorted! So happy – I have finally unpacked my shoes (only moved here in errmmm, July – never trust a man to do anything you leave him to do lmao) x
some nice picnics and hopefully get my legs out at some point haha
Haha yes, perhaps a fake tan may be in order first though…
Thanks for entering! x

Awh a conservatory will be the perfect place to relax :)
Thanks for entering x
Establish some nice exotic plants
What a nice idea :)
Thanks for entering x
Our spring is very busy! We have to finish off a catio we built for our cat to be able to use the smaller of our two balconies without needing us to supervise her. And I have a lot of travel to the city my mum lives and the city my nieces live in, because they’ll be moving to live with her permanently as their parents are struggling hugely with caring for them. So I’m helping with the move and with getting them settled.
If that wasn’t enough, we’ve also got a lot of organic veg and herbs on the go that will need tending to (we’re lucky our large balcony is huge so there’s space for them!), and we’ve started a lifestyle blog for Aunts and Uncles (and everyone else, too!) at http://www.21stcenturyfamily.co.uk that we’ll be working on content for.
We are hoping for some weekend breaks in Europe/UK for holidays this year, but with everything else that’s going on (my partner has just been promoted at work, too), we don’t know how many we’ll actually be able to fit in!
I meant to add that if we won the hammock, we’d be giving it to my mum and my nieces to use in her wonderful back garden – she loves to grow organic food and flowers, so there’s plenty of nice plants to look at, as well as trees and soft grass to make using the hammock worthwhile – I don’t want you worrying that we might swing ourselves off our 7th floor balcony if we won!!
No way, it’d be going towards making my nieces’ childhoods as magical and wonderful as they should have been so far.
Haha your balcony sounds amazing! I hope you have a fantastic summer with all your big plans :)
Thanks for entering x
