Just in case you needed more apps in your life…
…here are some that you just can’t live without if you live in Cornwall like myself!
1 | SAS: SAFER SEAS SERVICE
Check your local beaches are unpolluted and safe
This app is what prompted me to write this whole post. Two months ago, we took Pepper to the beach and wondered why she sick over the next two days. It turns out that there had been a sewage dump on the day we went to the beach, and evidently Pepper had ingested some of that polluted seawater.
Horrified, I immediately downloaded this app. You simply add all your local beaches to an alert list, and you’ll get updates if there’s been a sewage dump in that area, and details on how safe it is to go. If you’re a regular beach goer (particularly with children or dogs!) you can’t afford NOT to get this free app!
2 | APP FOR CORNWALL
Stuck for what to do in Cornwall this weekend? Look no further!
This is basically your one-stop-shop to Cornwall! Whether you’re looking for places to eat, shop, or take the kids, this app has everything listed, with links to websites and more information at your finger tips.
Another great thing about this app is that it lists loads of upcoming events in Cornwall, and even has a discounts and offers section too!
3 | MAGIC SEAWEED
Check tide times, swell, winds etc. at any Cornish beach!
How did I live without this app before? Again, this is great for regular beach-goers, surfers and general water-sports lovers!
Find out the tide times, wave height, swell, winds and temperatures from any beach in Cornwall (or all over the UK for that matter) – crucial information for having a fun and safe kayaking session!
4 | BBC WEATHER
The most accurate weather app I’ve tried!
Okay, so maybe everyone in the whole of England should get this app. The weather reporting is extremely localised and based on the MET office reports, so I’ve found it to be incredibly accurate.
Seeing as the majority of Cornish activities involve the outdoors in some capacity, a decent weather app is a must-have!
Thanks for the suggestions, I always love to learn about new apps. I don’t live in Cornwall but would definitely use these if I were visiting!
Rae | Love from Berlin
Me too Rae! I would definitely recommend the SAS one if you’re visiting – it’s so important for safety! x
Ahh, these are excellent! The app for Cornwall looks like something I will get a lot of use out of.
My everyday apps are VSCOCam and Mextures – I love editing photo snaps with them!

Ooh never heard of Mextures :) Will check it out! x
Ahhh – love these apps! The only ones I really use are couponing apps and also one called fertile foods which helps me to tick off the best foods to make sure that I eat them daily!
Ahh that’s a great idea! :) x
Hi Anna. I’m so stoked that I found your blog! I love it and as I’m moving to Cornwall in a few weeks, these apps will be really handy :) Look forward to reading more of your posts and finding more about life in Cornwall.
Ahh I’m so excited for you for moving! Glad you’re enjoying my blog – thanks so much! :) You’re gonna love living here x
What a good idea for a post, Anna! :) I’m following your blog like mad because Lee and I think we’d like to settle in Cornwall some day soon…so i’m mentally bookmarking this post for when that happy day arrives, knowing it’s bound to be really helpful!I think I’ll also pay this post another visit over the next year when we take a holiday down into Cornwall…and will doubtless be scouring your blog for other posts about where to visit, where to eat, where to walk etc etc! :)
Hope you have a wonderful evening!

Thanks again for your comment :) xx
Do you have any video of that? I’d want to find out more details.
Hi there! Do you use Twitter? I’d like to follow you if that would
be okay. I’m definitely enjoying your blog and look forward to new posts.
