My hair may currently be the most super soft and squeaky clean it’s ever been!
It’s not that I don’t wash properly – I do! But having just had my first ever ‘scalp peeling’ treatment I’m not sure I can beat this super clean feeling.
‘Scap peeling’ sounds kind of like what happens after a bad sunburn doesn’t it.
It’s much more relaxing and lovely than it sounds, I promise! The Oway Clay Peeling Cleanser* is basically like an exfoliating face mask, but for your hair and scalp.
Oway is an Italian hair care range that has recently launched in the UK; they use only natural ingredients in their products, grown and harvested at their biodynamic farm in the Bologna hills.
Side note: Biodynamic apparently means ‘grown in harmony with the nature around it’ – I’d never heard of that term before, but now ya know!
I popped over to the lovely Hair Today in Falmouth (who use all organic products at their salon and have recently become one of Cornwall’s Oway stockists) to try out this new cleansing treatment. With peppermint tea in hand, I watched as the clay was mixed in with the ‘Relaxing Blend’ oils.
And lay back as the mixture was massaged into my scalp!
FYI it wasn’t scratchy at all, just like exfoliating your face really. The cleanser and oil smelt lovely, too, containing lavender and fennel. Afterwards my scalp felt tingly and fresh, and super clean!
My treatment was finished off with an Oway moisturising conditioner (which smelt like Christmas, yum!) to make sure my hair was left soft and shiny.
Why cleanse your scalp like this? I personally think it’s a great, thorough way to get rid of any built up of skin and hair product around your hair follicles, but apparently it can also help with stimulating hair growth – which I guess makes sense if your scalp is healthier and less ‘clogged up’, but don’t quote me on the science ;)
Would you try a scalp cleanse?
*I was offered a complimentary Oway hair treatment to try, but all opinions are my own; I really did rather enjoy it!

Wow this sounds amazing! I love the idea of a full scalp cleanse, not that I use many products at all but there’s something so great about having a head massage – best bit about going to the hairdressers! I wonder if they do this sort of thing anywhere in Plymouth?! Alice xxx

Damn they need a salon stockists list on their website – but they just launched in Cornwall so I’d imagine the rest of the South West is fairly well covered? But yes, head massages ftw <3 x
This sounds dreamy! My hair could definitely do with a bit of loving!

It sure was! And yeah I know what you mean – my hair gets kind of dull and lifeless in Winter :( I need some shine! x
I really like the sound of this. Very tempted to pop down the road to Hair Today and have a treatment! https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/7309cd8b1f1357a06a488c0aa5e539af471dc66352a2ccd2128e8c40946a77b6.jpg
