Nothing like a good ol’ list to round off the week! Here’s a few things I’ve been enjoying that sum up this ridiculously quick January:
1. Puppy training classes with Pepper
This is the best way I can think of to spend dark, lazy Sunday evenings. We head over to Chiverton stables, meet lots of other adorable puppies (Pepper has made best friends with a german shepherd cross called Wolfie), and start getting her used to sitting, laying down and coming on command.
She’s happy getting lots of treats, and we’re happy distracting her from chewing on our hands and feet!
2. That MoneySupermarket advert
I can’t handle this advert. This man is truly worthy of winning Rupaul’s Drag Race with that strut; the sass!

3. Being able to drive to and from work
Since finally passing my test, buying a car in December, and getting it fixed in January, I can truly say this feels like a blessing every day. The weather is so crap here and I just don’t know if I could cope with a crammed bus ride and 10 minute walk in the rain each morning and evening.
4. The new Mark Ronson album
If you know me, you’ll know that I live for 70s music (disco and funk in particular), so I am fully embracing this comeback.
‘Uptown Special’ is bursting with great tracks that I can’t sit still to, and it is positively cheering up this miserable month. It’s literally impossible to feel down with that funky bass blasting out.
5. Brie
For no apparent reason, this month has been a month of good cheeses (Christmas leftovers perhaps?), and with Cornish brie working out cheaper than cheddar in Morrisons at the moment, who am I to say no to a daily brie and ham sandwich?
6. Lilyhammer
This is the best TV series on Netflix I’ve seen so far (and I have seen a lot). We completed all 3 series this January, and I’m already missing it.
If you watch anything in February, make it this. It’s the perfect blend of funny, dark, and downright Scandinavian.
Meanwhile, this month I am disliking:
1. Quotes for installing gas central heating
Why is it so expensive??
2. Puppy illness
Pepper was ill last weekend with a stomach bug (she’s better now), which was stressful, messy, and expensive when we had to take her to the vets. Oh the joys of being a responsible dog owner.
