Puppies, Chickens & Chocolate Bunnies (Easter Weekend in Cornwall)
You can fit a lot into a 4-day weekend it seems!
Wouldn’t it be awesome if we could have this happen more often? I say yes please!
We kicked off the weekend with a delicious brunch at the Porthtowan Beach Cafe and a walk along the beach with my dad. Friday blessed us with some glorious weather, so we made the most of it and sat outside to eat (I wasn’t even a little bit cold!).

Mmm, dat crispy bacon.

Despite the delicious bacon & eggs, and stunning views of the North coast, that wasn’t even the highlight of my day. Why?
Because I then spent the afternoon taking photos of 2 week old French Bulldog puppies!

I KNOW!
You can’t really top that for a weekend activity can you?

With Saturday came Storm Katie (or whatever stupid name it’s been given), and some intense wind and rain that put a stop to any fun outdoors activities we had planned.
Instead, we prepped for the imminent Easter day. By which I mean we bought flowers and ate some chocolate eggs like rebels.

On Sunday, we visited my mum for a lamb roast.
My mum is someone who does Easter. She has an actual box of decorations dedicated to it, and spends the lead up to it making strange displays with miniature chickens and mismatched, colourful eggs.

I am the opposite of this. I’m not really big on things like Valentines and Easter… I don’t send cards or anything. (Though obviously I give chocolate to those who I know do Easter; it’d be rude not to!)
And obviously I’m partial to the odd Lindt bunny myself…

But other than that, I’m just in it for the 4 day weekend.
…And the roast dinner, obvs!

My mum’s house also feels particularly festive at Easter due to the various creatures that dwell in her garden…

Scary, scary animals.

^ Funny story about this dude. He used to be a chick…
That’s not even just a bad pun. He actually used to be female, but spontaneously changed gender. It’s a 1 in 10,000 thing apparently.

Sounds like it’s been a lovely weekend! Your chicken story made me laugh out loud. I’d love to meet him one day! Bet he has some stories to tell…!
Hehe if you like that story you’ll love my mum. She’s mad as a hatter and has some great stories xD
x
Hahah I loved this. I was SO happy to have a four day weekend, it was so needed. And this sounded like the best way to spend it!
