I stumbled across the Raw Chocolate Pie shop in St. Ives this weekend and just had to share…
Walking past the shopfront, I couldn’t stop myself from going in and trying the generous tasters on offer!
I had heard of the Raw Chocolate Pie company before, as they’re stocked in quite a few natural & vegan store around Cornwall (and the whole country too!), but I’d never actually tried any of their products before. Naturally I went crazy in the shop trying all the different flavours, and ended up buying a stash for myself too.
Founded by Debby Fowler and lovingly handmade here in Cornwall, the raw ‘pies’ and fudge are dairy free, gluten free, soya free and contain no artificial ingredients or added sugar whatsoever. They’re totally natural (using organic coconut oil, raw cacao, agave nectar and other tasties) and the ingredients are sustainably sourced too.
Also they’re completely delicious! So ticks all the good boxes basically.
I treated myself to the coffee pie, combo pie and the raw chocolate fudge, and I think my favourite is probably the coffee pie. Though they look small, they are super rich and really filling, and apparently packed full of good enzymes and bacteria (because of the whole ‘raw’ thing!).
I’d read online that it’s hard to eat one all at once because they’re so rich, and being someone who is used to overindulging in tasty food, I honestly didn’t believe it until I was half way through my coffee one. I’m excited to take them on walks and adventures as they make the most epic energy boosting snack!
These would make the perfect gift for any veggie/vegan friends and family members, or anyone you know who suffers from food intolerances; they’re a pretty safe bet (just be careful as many of them do contain nuts!). There are plenty of gift packages and options to choose from too.
You can buy them in the shop in St. Ives or from many health food shops around the company, but they also have an online shop (orders over £15 get free shipping!) which is handy too. If you are interested in getting some as a gift, they are accepting orders right up until the 21st December!
