One of my favourite hang out spots in Newquay has to be Roo’s Beach.
This fashion and lifestyle emporium at the edge of the beach at Porth, is one of the most fun shopping experiences you’ll have. The decor is gorgeous, the items are quirky and colourful, and there’s even a little cafe and chill out area where you can relax while you shop.
Carrying brands like American Vintage, Ban.do, Free People Levi’s, Wildfox and many more, Roo’s Beach is your one stop shop for relaxed, beach-style fashion. They also have an online store where you can find many of their items listed, but I highly recommend making a trip to the physical shop as it’s got such a cool vibe!

We visited recently during a press trip and had the opportunity to have a Personal Styling session with Bex. She picked out some outfits based on my style and current summer trends, and looked around the shop at all the gorgeous accessories available too.
Now if you’ve followed my blog for a while or see me on Instagram, you’ll probably know my style is very neutral (consisting mainly of black, whites and greys!). The thing is – it’s not that I don’t like colour, I’m just really bad at fashion and I know that if I introduce colour I run the risk of putting together an outfit that doesn’t work or I don’t feel comfortable in. Having a personal styling session is therefore hugely valuable to me in a shop like this, where most of the items are gorgeously colourful, but I don’t have a clue how to put things together or what suits me!
One thing I do know, however, is that I love yellow! I think it suits my skin and hair, and I’ve generally become a big fan of yellow over the last year or so.

Another thing I also know is that I LOVE Levi’s. Lucky for me, Roo’s beach stock loads of Levi’s products from jeans to skirts to shorts, and there is nothing quite like the fit of a pair of Levi’s shorts – love them!
^ Wearing Insane in the Rain jacket
We put together this bright festival-inspired outfit with my favourite shades of yellow, and I love how cute and colourful this raincoat from Insane in the Rain is. I could totally see myself wearing this at Boardmasters this year – it also helps to be bright when you want your friends to be able to find you!

I know it’s still summer and not quite the time to be thinking about knitwear yet, but I well and truly fell in love with this jumper from American Vintage. My absolute favourite Marmalade shade, and so unbelievably soft and comfortable, I’m a huge fan of the drop-shoulders and balloon sleeves also. Incredibly cosy and perfect for slouchy summer evenings… I’m sure I’ll be back to buy this soon!

Back inside the shop, it really is a feast for the eyes. With displays arranged according to looks, colours, and themes. We put together this relaxed shopping outfit with a pair of Levi’s Ribcage jeans (again, ridiculously comfortable!) which I think is perfect for browsing the shelves and rails of this boutique…
Outside, the shop has its own mini greenhouse with a beautiful array of succulents and cacti in a unique selection of pots, and as I mentioned, the fun chill out area outside in the sun, with benches, blankets and cushions perfect for chilling with a coffee.

The little cafe onsite has a range of teas and coffees, as well as cakes, pasties and snacks available, so we made ourselves right at home in the outdoor space with a latte to enjoy the sunshine.
The shop is always changing and rearranging, so you always know you’re going to find something new and exciting when you visit. It really is such a fun experience and every time I visit I get excited by all the colour and gorgeous items they have in stock.
