Taking a Break in the Adriatic (+ Croatia Vlog)
I’m back from our beautiful break in Croatia and obviously it’s time to share some snaps!
We stayed in Croatia a few years ago with my family, and absolutely loved it! It’s one of the most beautiful countries I’ve visited, with a crystal clear coastline, mountains and lush green forests.
N and I haven’t had a relaxing week away in a long time, so booked our trip to the Sensimar Adriatic Beach Resort near Makarska back in January and have been looking forward to it for months! We were definitely not disappointed.
We booked the Junior Suite, which turned out to be on the top floor, with a large private balcony and stunning sea view. Very exciting for little old me who’s used more used to Premier Inn…
The hotel is perched right on the sea edge, and boasts three restaurants, four bars (including a dedicated mojito bar – obviously!) and a pool overlooking the ocean.
I must admit when we first arrived we were all somewhat concerned about the weather, but it did brighten up for our first evening. We had a couple of days of rain and storms during our stay, but we didn’t let it stop us having a fantastic time.

As I say, we still managed to get a few days of sunshine, which we of course spent lounging by the pool in the 28 degree heat. Not sure you can see from the photos below, but naturally I ended up with a sunburnt face like the irresponsible pale girl I am…
Yeah so this post is basically just photos of cocktails – sorry not sorry.
We were there on an all inclusive basis, so I was free to grab all the cocktails and mojitos going! The food was also amazing, and on one of the nights we booked a 6 course meal in the a la carte restaurant – we ended up spending 3 hours there just in awe at the delicious food and view!
This post wouldn’t be complete without sharing some sunset shots – honestly on the couple of clear evenings we had, we couldn’t resist running down to the beach to capture the sun setting behind the mountains.
On one of the days we went on a day trip to Sibenik and Krka Waterfalls, which was incredible and (fortunately or unfortunately for you!) warrants a whole extra post dedicated to it!

I’m gutted to be back home now obviously, especially since the next few weeks at the resort are set to be solid sun. Just our luck. But at least I have a Cornish Summer to look forward to here (although right now it’s raining outside…yay).

Croatia looks beautiful! I’m sitting in a caravan in Devon right now, it’s grey outside and tipping it down! Wish I could teleport to that beach and get one of those cocktails :P
