The Ultimate Autumn Hot Drinks

The Ultimate Autumn Hot Drinks

Getting cosy with a hot drink is obviously one of the best parts about Autumn and Winter.

I’m talking hot chocolates, chai lattes, sweet fruit teas and mulled wine. Who else is planning to take their daily calorie allowance and just spend it on steamy, creamy beverages? It’s low in nutritional value, but high in snug-factor.

Here are a variety of delicious warming drinks I plan on making over the next couple of months:

Italian Hot Chocolate:

I’ve just ruined your day haven’t I? Now you have to sit there thinking about this heavenly treat for hours before you can have it. I don’t know for sure, but this may be the drink of the Gods.

Mulled Wine:

Nothing in the world says Christmas better than a hot glass of mulled wine. It’s the perfect, delicious excuse to consume way more than your daily alcohol limit while watching hideously cheesy children’s’ Christmas movies.

White Peppermint Hot Chocolate:

Ooft, just look at it. It’s like something from a Disney film. As a big white-choc fan, I am overwhelmingly excited to try this recipe – and it’s really simple too!

Chai Tea Latte:

The Recipe

Ahh the classic Chai Latte. I’ve never tried to make this myself (I’m lazy and buy the packet stuff/buy it from my local coffee shop oops), but it seems very satisfying! I don’t understand the tea aspect of it, but hey.

Hot milk with gingerbread syrup:

Okay, I made this one up. Because of how my body reacts to excessive caffeine and chocolate consumption, this is my go-to hot drink for Winter. It’s also a nice cheap Starbucks order ;)

PS. Looking through all the hot drinks recipes on the internet, I tried really hard to find a good tea recipe, but I couldn’t find one because they all looked crap.

PPS. I hate tea.

What hot drinks will you be making this year?

    1. I made it last night and my God it was rich haha. Would recommend drinking it in espresso shot sized portions rather than an entire mug xD

  1. Ok this is unfair, I now want every single one of them! when we were in Sicily last year we definitely had (you can’t say drink as you have to spoon them rather than drink them!) far too many Italian hot chocolates, they’re so good! Chai lattes are also a winner – though technically chai is tea, so you don’t hate ALL teas ;) Alice xx

    1. I really do not understand the whole chai tea thing…how is it a tea?? Much confusion.
And ohh I’m so jealous; I’ve never had an authentic Italian hot chocolate – definitely on the bucket list now :P

      1. Chai is a type of spiced tea – you just make the UK version of chai tea latte with lots of steamed milk rather than the original Indian version which is short, hot, without milk and with LOTS of sugar. I like both, but the base of all chai drinks is tea! ;)

    1. Yes Josie! You have to try it, it’s the most snuggly drink ever, and it’s seriously cheap too if you’re scrounging for change at the coffee shop! x

  2. White Peppermint Hot Chocolate looks delicious, especially since it’s so cold here in socal (okay… probably not as cold as the rest of the world!)
