Doing this regular list of nice things is becoming a way for me to stay sane.
As much as I don’t want to talk too much about the unfortunate events that are currently unfolding in our life right now, it has to be said that I’m finding it hard to write cheery posts at the moment. Heck, I’m finding it hard to leave the house and do nice stuff to write about at the moment.
But we have some really good things to look forward to over the next few weeks (including a visit to see family, a wedding, a camping trip and two birthdays!), so I hope these will drown out the current crap that’s going on, and will make for some happier blog posts too.
Anyway, here are some things that have cheered me up lately:
1. This epic travel/general organisation hack
This ‘travel drawer’ hack is so damn simple, I just have to question why I’d never thought of it before! And it’s not just travel stuff this is good for; it’s everything! I now have a big bag in my closet that is dedicated purely to ‘going to the beach’ – no need to search in all different places for towels, suncream, wetsuits – it’s all in one grab-bag.
2. Ctrl, Alt, Delete* by Emma Gannon
Even though I’m only a few chapters in, I’m already loving it! It’s basically a biography of what it’s like growing up online with MSN and Myspace etc, and my God it’s like I could have written the book myself. As a twenty-something year old who spent her entire teen-hood online, I can relate to every single thing Emma has written in this book.
3. Fish and chips at the beach
N and I caught the last bit of sun for the week with an evening dinner of fish and chips at Portreath beach to watch the sunset, which was lovely and exactly what we needed after yet another week of BLEGH.
4. These 4 must-watch TED Talks for bloggers
I love a good TED talk to get some motivation and inspiration in my life, so I love round up posts like this one from Social Studio Shop that introduce me to new ones I haven’t seen before. If you’re interested in creativity and branding, check that list out!
5. Stranger Things on Netflix
Netflix launched the first season of this new 80s-inspired thriller series a few weeks ago, and we are loving it! The soundtrack is epic, the child actors are incredible, and I love all the old 80s thriller references peppered about in it. SO GOOD!
6. Seeing The Darkness in Perranporth last night
The Darkness are one of my favourite bands ever, so it was epic to see them at such an ‘intimate’ venue (The Watering Hole on the beach in Perranporth) – last time we saw them was supporting Lady Gaga in Twickenham stadium; huge difference, but equally as awesome!
What have you been loving this week?

Ooooooh, I love a good TED talk so definitely going to check that post out! Looks like you have had a fab week x

I have a bag for the beach too :) I keep it in the back of my car so that I am always ready – such a great idea as I don’t always know at the weekend whether we might end up at a beach!
