Tucked away on Prince’s Street, the Truro Lounge café is definitely worth a try; particularly if you like lemonade, eggs and delicious burgers!
I’ve been there several times now, and I must say they never disappoint. With a quirky, ‘art-deco’ style interior, and a fabulously funky roof terrace, I’d say it’s probably one of Truro’s most unique places to eat.
A café, restaurant and bar all in one, Truro Lounge is open 8 til late (11pm) every day throughout the week, including Sundays, which is fairly rare for sleepy old Cornwall!
If you’re a fan of homemade lemonade, you will love their Cooling Lemonade (“freshly squeezed lemon juice, sugar syrup, mint & cucumber, served over ice & topped up with soda”). It’s made in a cocktail shaker, and served in a tankard with mint leaves, so it looks pretty epic!
And let us not forget their mini-library (downstairs to the left of the bar)! Although I’m not much of a reader, I thought this was an awesome idea.
Their menu is the perfect blend of healthy and treat options, and the portion sizes and quality of the food is great too. Above is a snippet of their menu; I’d recommend the Lounge eggs with salmon, but I can’t wait to try out the french toast!
The only down-side is that because it’s so good, it’s a fairly popular place, so at peak times you may have to wait a while for food. But you’d get that anywhere, right? It’s always worth the wait anyway!
