So, it’s time! Congratulations, you’re engaged and you’re looking for a unique venue in Cornwall to get married! I bet you can’t wait. I understand that this must be one of the most exciting times of your life… but also quite daunting. Where do you even start? With so many incredible locations to choose from all over the world, the country and the county of Cornwall itself, it can be difficult to decide.

I imagine that if you’ve clicked through to this blog post, it means that you’re pretty interested in getting married in Cornwall! I’m a bit biased, but if I were you, I couldn’t think of a better place ;) We have so much to choose from in terms of event and wedding venues in Cornwall – from beaches, to castles, to forests; the choice is endless.

But why would you want a unique wedding venue? Maybe you’ve attended 10 weddings in the past two years, and the idea of a hotel wedding puts you right off? Maybe you’re super outdoorsy (like me!) and you’re craving a more adventurous day? Maybe you’re interested in having a more intimate day, for just close friends and family in a truly special space? Or perhaps you’ve decided to omit the big party, and just elope?

To make the process a bit easier, or even just to get your imagination flowing, I’ve put together a list of 8 very unique wedding venues in Cornwall!

Lusty Glaze Beach

Lusty Glaze is one of the most beautiful beaches in North Cornwall, and being 100% private means that you could hire out the entire beach all to yourselves! They even have a wedding license, meaning you wouldn’t have to go to a registry office first, you can get officially married right on the beach. What’s not to love?

Plus, if you’re coming from up country, Lusty Glaze is only a short drive away from Newquay Airport, making it one of the most convenient wedding locations in Cornwall!

Kynance Cove

Kynance is one of the most iconic spots in Cornwall, s0 why not get married right here? Unlike Lusty Glaze, you’ll have to legalise your marriage at a registry office first, but the team at The Cornish Celebrants would be able to provide you with a beautiful, personalised ceremony, including poetry readings, spiritual or religious readings, or any other rituals you’d like!

Yurts at Fir Hill Estate

Fir Hill is located in the countryside by Porth reservoir, near to Newquay airport, and offers the perfect space for your outdoorsy, quirky wedding, event or ‘Wedfest’ (a festival-themed weekend wedding celebration!). The amazing luxury yurts here can sleep up to 70 people, and with large communal spaces, marquees and grass to dance around in, you can create such a unique event with bands, music, caterers and festival fun!

A Mine Stack

This venue is totally unique, and is unlike anything I’ve ever seen before (which gets me super, duper excited!). The Stack is a former 19th century engine house with a pared-back, rustic feel to it. The venue has a wedding license, and while it sleeps up to 6 people, the wedding day could have up to 40 guests.

A Princess Castle

Let’s take a second here and all agree that this might just be the most breathtaking wedding setting ever! Caerhays Castle is surrounded by 140 acres of gardens, and even comes complete with sea views. I would highly recommend thinking about a spring wedding at Caerhays, because the flowers are unlike anything I’ve ever seen before! Caerhays has a full wedding license, and the estate can welcome up to 250 guests.

Cliff Side Wedding

This isn’t a specific venue, but I wanted to throw this idea in anyway because why not embrace the beautiful cliffs we have surrounding the county, and have a small ceremony surrounded by your nearest and dearest? The Cornish Celebrants could step in here once again.

Trebah Gardens

Trebah has to be one of the most beautiful gardens in Cornwall (and there are many of them!) but the advantage of Trebah is it’s approved for small, intimate civil ceremonies, and can welcome up to 35 guests!

So if you’re looking for a small, but breathtaking venue with views on the Helford River, this might just be the place for you.

Wild Tipi Cornwall
