Spring Beach Days feat. Ebb + Flow (+ GIVEAWAY)
There’s nothing better than taking your lunch break to the beach.
It’s something that’s totally easy to take for granted when you live in Cornwall, especially when you’re self employed and working to your own schedule! It’s definitely top on the list of best things about working for yourself.
Before the bank holiday I managed to catch some of the last of the good weather and got myself down to Godrevy beach for some lunch on my lonesome. Sat on the sand under the heat of the sun (it was a beautiful 22 degrees), with a gentle breeze as I looked out at St. Ives bay.
Godrevy is a stunning little beach at the edge of the bay, blending into Gwithian and famous for its lighthouse. I spent so many Summers here as a child, playing and jumping into the large rockpools and bodyboarding on the waves, and yes I think I’ve only revisited once since I moved back a few years ago!
It’s a National Trust beach, which means its free for us NT members to park on the cliff fields, but it still gets super busy in Summer. This time of year is definitely the best time to go (before the crowds descend!), but if you do find yourself there in July/August, just make sure it’s low tide, because if not, it’s very hard to find a spot to sit!
Luckily, on beautiful Spring days like this, it’s easy to find a secluded sliver of sand to call your own, and I made myself very much at home nestled between the rocks for my picnic, with my beautiful Hammam towel from Ebb + Flow Cornwall.
These Turkish towels are the perfect accessory for beach picnics, making perfect rug/blankets, cover-ups and (obviously) being useful for the purpose of drying yourself after a dip in the ocean! You can also use them as throws throughout your home or even as a yoga mat – I love how versatile they are.
Ebb + Flow are based in West Cornwall and source these gorgeous 100% cotton handmade towels direct from the Turkish loom, with a ‘less is more’ ethos that I love. I was so excited to try out one of their towels and take it to the beach with me for some photos; it’s so soft and lightweight and looks so pretty up against the blue sky and sea.
They have plenty of different styles/patterns/colours to choose from (of course I had to go with grey and white Hendra, my fave combo!), and I’m excited to say that I have a stunning turquoise Hendra towel to giveaway as well!
