Photoshoots on the West Coast (Pendeen/Zennor)
Determined not to let the stormy & unpredictable weather put a dampener on our week, Olivia, Lizzie & I headed to the coast.
I wrote in my Cornish bucket list for 2017 that I wanted to get down to the west coast around Zennor at some point this Summer, and luckily, everyone was in agreement that this would be a rather epic place to have a bit of a walk, chat and photo session.

The drive from Redruth was long and the roads were narrow, but it truly is an incredible route along the coast past St. Ives! These tiny roads are the only way to access the famous Zennor area, and at times you wonder to yourself whether this can really be the main road… whilst you’re driving casually through a farm and past all the beautiful granite stone cottages.
For a moment it feels like you’re on Dartmoor, surrounded by boulders and hilly moorland/countryside, but then suddenly from over a hill appears the ocean! A wild and rugged coastline suddenly drops down to wild and rough waves and it honestly feels totally different to any other area in Cornwall.
I’m sure my parents probably took me to this area before as a child but I don’t remember at all, and it really is so unique. I just drove around today wondering how people lived here? It feels incredibly remote, and the roads are long and winding and seemingly endless.
The weather this week has been so dodgy, so it was nice to grab even just an hour or two of sunshine (it did start to rain towards the end of our walk!) while we could. It looks like the weekend is going to be fairly miserable too so I’m glad we got out.
Going on walks with photographers is hilarious because we always have a plan to walk for miles and then end up managing to take about 3 hours to walk 1km because of stopping to take photos. I usually end up doing this myself anyway for the #blogcontent, but it’s nice to have company.
Dressed up in our Summer outfits, I’m fairly sure all the walkers we passed on the way thought we were a group of daft tourists (them all kitted out in serious hiking gear and sticks etc.). But look how cute Lizzie and Olivia look? They’re gorgeous.
Anyway, we didn’t spot any mermaids sadly! But it was still an epic walk and I loved exploring a new bit of Cornwall’s coast with these two lovely ladies.

I love the contrast in the editing, if only you guys lived closer, then I could run around joining in the fun and getting some decent new snaps (I’d ask Adam but he gets bored after about one photo and never quite captures it the way I’m hoping for…!!) Alice xxx
