My love/hate relationship with the beast that is Pinterest has lead me to some rather gorgeous interior inspiration this week…
For me to say that N and I are ‘doing up’ our house would definitely be an over-exaggeration. We bought our house nearly a year ago and we’ve been slowly trying to make it our own (with the emphasis on slowly).ย
Of course, this requires plenty of coinage because I can’t keep myself away from Pinterest and Houzz and Ikea, constantly coming up with the Best Plan Ever for the next room and the next. This is how I occupy my time now.
Without further ado, here are some inspiring Pinterest images of interiors I am loving:

As you may be able to tell, I’m just a little bit obsessed with the Rustic/Minimal/Scandinavian look; but Damnit, it’s beautiful. Our house is a lot older than many of the places on Pinterest (built in 1860 in fact!), and it’s not quite as light, but I’m determined to get the same effect!
Love all of these. Great post! Gemma xx http://www.jacquardflower.uk
Thanks Gemma – glad you agree with how gorgeous they are! xx
Love the muted colour scheme. I’d add maybe a bit of olive green or even dark yellow too maybe. Personally I like simple whites and greys mixed with bright colour, but it’s not for everyone!
Buckets & Spades
I know what you mean! I really like grey with bright yellows and coral colours too – but I think I would only bring them as accent colours like with cushions and stuff so that I could easily change it up if I got bored. I get bored really easily so for me neutrals are the safest way to go haha!
I’m usually all about the bright colours but those grey tones have really caught my eye!
Glad you like them! I’m pretty obsessed with monotone greys and charcoal colours at the moment – so elegant! x
These are so dreamy, Pinterest is such a heller for keeping me up late and making me lust over my dream house!

Same! I remember when I discovered Pinterest I was right in the middle of exam period for A levels at college – needless to say my procrastination game was on point that Spring. x
I would love a house from the 1860s! I am all about the worn, rustic, weather beaten sort of look. Everything is threadbare in our house, or distressed, but I love it that way – I love how comfy it is! I love this look too, I just think it would require more money!!! I also like shabby chic type of a look, but I don’t like it when it goes OTT!
Haha, I do love old houses but they require A LOT of maintenance. We’ve just paid out loads to have gas central heating put in because we previously had these crappy old electric storage heaters that didn’t work properly and the house got SO damp over Winter. Hopefully the new heating system will help out. Now looking to replace some windows too because they’re like 40 years old and kinda broken too haha. Such dolla.
I know what you mean about shabby chic being OTT. I used to quite like it but now it’s such a huge thing in loads of cheap-ish shops and it just makes it look a bit tacky sometimes x
We have storage heaters in our house too. I am so ready to leave this awful, awful rented hell hole!
Oh furnishing and decorating can take loads of time. Especially when you move to your own house. It all has to be ‘just perfect’ so it’s very time consuming. My favourite style is scandinavian. I like cold, minimalistic designs, but with a little bit of cosiness (blankets, fluffy rugs, and real wood). :)
