Best Restaurants on the Beach in Cornwall

The Best Restaurants on the Beach in Cornwall (2026)

One of my favourite things about Cornwall is being able to eat out in restaurants with a sea view, where you can walk out right onto the beach!

There’s just something about it that makes the whole dining out experience extra special.

But finding places to eat on the beach or by the sea in Cornwall is actually quite easy. There are LOADS to choose from (yes, we’re pretty lucky down here!), so if you’re trying to decide on where to go for your lunch or evening out, below are my top (tried & tested) personal recommendations.

As a Cornish local – and a self-confessed ‘foodie’ – I wanted to share with you some restaurants that not only have a great vibe on the beach/seafront, but in all my Cornwall recommendations I try to also take into account:

  • The quality & taste of the food
  • The service
  • The overall value for money

(PS. If you’re looking for my list of best pubs and bars with a sea view, I have a separate post on these!)

The Boathouse Newquay

The Boathouse, Newquay Harbour

The Boathouse is tucked away down on Newquay harbour is actually a venue that hosts multiple different street food vendors, including waffles, pizzas and cocktails! We visited in summer 2023 and it was such a vibe there – plus the pizzas were AMAZING too. You can sit in their decked area right on a sandy coved area of the harbour.

The Fish House Fistral in Newquay

Fish House Fistral, Newquay

It’s been several years since we last visited Fish House Fistral, but I remember the seafood here was – as you might expect – really delicious! There are several restaurants all perched at the edge of the beautiful Fistral beach, and this whole area really comes alive with a proper summer holiday vibe.

The Colonial at Tolcarne Beach

The Colonial at Tolcarne Beach, Newquay

We were lucky enough to have the opportunity to stay in one of The Colonial at Tolcarne’s gorgeous hotel rooms a couple of summers ago, and the amazing decor alongside the sunset was really an experience. During our stay, we ate at the restaurant here for their summer BBQ evening and it was SO good! Step off the decking at the restaurant here and you’re right on the sand of Tolcarne beach.

The Beach Club in Carbis Bay

The Beach Club at Carbis Bay

Eating at Carbis Bay always feels like such a treat – it’s so luxurious here and The Beach Club is no different. With cool, laid back yet classy vibes, and the BEST seafood linguine I’ve ever eaten, this is the perfect fancy date spot to impress.

SILCo restaurant in St. Ives

Silco in St. Ives

Just around the corner, in St. Ives, there are lots of restaurants by the sea to enjoy! However my favourite at the moment has to be SILCo Bar & Kitchen, which sits along the harbour wall just a couple of steps from the sand. They offer a variety of small plates and are absolutely delish!

Summerhouse in Perranporth

Summerhouse, Perranporth

I wish I could remember our first time here at Summerhouse more clearly back when it opened, but I think I may have had too much wine to recall! However, we visited again recently just for a snack and cocktail and it was lovely. The decking looks out over Perranporth beach, and is the perfect place to stop for a lunch in the sun or evening watching the sunset.

HarbourQ in Charlestown

HarbourQ in Charlestown

Right on the harbour in the picturesque Charlestown, HarbourQ is THE place for juicy burgers, loaded fries and drinks by the sea. We’ve been a few times now and I just love the relaxed vibe here – often playing music throughout summer – and a stone’s throw from the cove to paddle in the sea.

    Peaceful environment.
Spare a thought for local people whose way of life does not include tourism .

The majority of local people DO NOT make a penny from tourism and actually pay a premium in their water bills which are some of the highest in the country. Lack of accommodation and gridlocked roads are also suffered.

Remember the only people who benefit from Tourism are those involved in the tourist industry- restaurants , hotels , B&B, car park and camp site owners etc.

  66. Oh, I totally relate to the vibe of those beachfront spots in Cornwall! The tutorial section is exactly what I was looking for, especially since I’m planning a trip soon. tbh, I’m already getting excited. Ngl, the only thing missing is a guide on how to make those delicious seafood dishes at home

  67. You’re right that tucking into a meal right on the sand turns an ordinary lunch into something memorable, though in my experience the wind always dictates whether you get to enjoy the view or end up wrestling with napkins. One thing worth adding to a tried-and-tested list is booking based on the tide and the time you want to walk in from the car park — in high season a table with a sea view is lovely until you realise you’ve queued forty minutes in the sun for shuttered parking. A useful steer might also be whether each kitchen takes dogs or muddy boots, since beach days rarely happen in clean shoes. Jeep Horror on Blockdeck
